In Many of the States with Medicaid Expansion, Few Young are Signing Up

The states least friendly to ObamaCare — those that spurned the Medicaid expansion — are mostly seeing a younger group of people sign up for their insurance exchanges than opt-in states.
Of the 16 states with the highest proportion of young adults (27% to 31%) signing up for exchanges, only four opted to expand Medicaid to up to 138% of the poverty level.
Meanwhile, of the 12 states in which 18- to 34-year-olds make up the lowest share of exchange sign-ups (from 17% to 22%), all but two opted to expand Medicaid.
Demographics and incomes partially explain the age divergence, but the Medicaid expansion split also appears to play a role.
Overall, the 18-to-34 group accounts for 25% of sign-ups, far below their 40% share of the potential market.
Young-adult enrollment is key because ObamaCare exchange rules make the young pay extra so that older people can be charged less without negating insurer profits.
Although informational hurdles and technological glitches have hampered enrollment, the tepid response from young adults casts some doubt as to whether ObamaCare is well-designed to attract their participation.

Yeah..."some doubt as to whether ObamaMESS is well-designed to attract their participation."...Do you think?

You're young and healthy..trying to get a start in life..house..condo..car..college debt..etc...........and Obama WANTS YOU to PAY MORE, so older, more established, less healthy, don't have to.

NOW AREN'T YOU ATTRACTED TO ENROLL?
