It now looks like ObamaCare will hurt twice as many people as it helps — because the law isn’t nearly done with canceling people’s insurance.
The 5 million-plus Americans who’ve seen their health plans canceled thanks to ObamaCare will be joined by millions more this year — because the Affordable Care Act makes their employer-provided policies illegal, as well.
ObamaCare defenders are trying to minimize the coming pain. Jonathan Gruber, an architect of the law, told The Washington Post that the number of “losers” who will have to pay more for the same or inferior coverage will be “very, very small.” Nonsense. ObamaCare exchange plans — the only option for most people who lose on-the-job coverage — are a raw deal.
Yet millions will get dropped from employer-provided coverage over the course of this year and be stuck with that alternative.
Effective Jan. 1 of this year, the Affordable Care Act requires small-group plans to provide 10 “essential benefits.” Many employers renewed their plans late last year to avoid that costly requirement as long as possible. But as the months pass, these plans will expire — and employers will be tempted to drop coverage altogether, rather than pay for those costly added benefits.
And those dropped employees will be stuck with ObamaCare-exchange plans or no insurance at all.

Indeed, I wonder how many millions of *victims* now find that they are no longer discriminated against due to having pre existing conditions, or others who were afraid to leave their job and start up on their own, out of fear of losing health cover, or the vulnerable, or those who fall ill and may have had to sell everything for treatment. Yes, I bet those *victims* are outraged- safe in the knowledge that their days of being discriminated against are over.
RM, Making insurance unaffordable, or cancelling it altogether for millions upon millions, is not the solution to helping people with pre-exisiting conditions. In the end, more people are suffering, not less as promised.

Very rude to force your neighbor to pay for your health care. Zero accountability is what you want, and everyone else having to pay for your unhealthy lifestyle choices, etc. You seem to think destroying our economy with uncertainty, the lack of privacy, the completely destruction of our civil liberty without protection from unreasonable searches, and government dictating to everyone is worthy being a dependent baby the rest of your life.
We had medicaid and medicare, there is no reason to raise the cost of medical insurance on everyone else. Address the problems, don't take all accountability from government and hand it over to bureaucrats and dirty rats.
The stated purpose for the government takeover of all medical power was to save money. Obamacare COSTS LOTS MORE MONEY. There is no savings, just excessive expense.
With ObCare government makes too many decisions for too many people, it is not effective or wise. Social engineering cannot be a Federal power, it isn't enumerated in the Constitution.
This is a highly dangerous and volatile experiment. Better to let states experiment as the Constitution allows. The federal government has no business having this much information on each person. It must be stopped.
UK wants to end their experiment. Accountability has always been the best route to improvement and advancement, not force. Canadians come to America.

1 - Ted Cruz was trying to DEFUND Obamacare, not "repeal" it.
2 - The "entire" government was NOT shut down. Only 17% of it was - NONESSENTIAL workers that nobody noticed were missing until Obama tried to MAXIMIZE THE INCONVENIENCE caused by the partial shutdown.
3 - The decision to shut down 17% of the government was NOT Ted Cruz's. Cruz and his conservative colleagues FUNDED EVERYTHING EXCEPT OBAMACARE, at which point Obama threw a temper tantrum and shut down 17% of the government - the 17% that he thought would CAUSE THE MOST INCONVENIENCE TO AMERICANS - then FALSELY blamed that inconvenience on Cruz and his conservative colleagues, just like YOU are doing.
Facts are stubborn things. Nice try, C/P2016. Try again.
