@RomneyMan...I could not agree with you more. She is smart, classy and down to earth. She's not afraid to get in there and get the job done. She has done more for kids diet and exercise than any other first lady. I think it's time we all give credit where credit is due.
Not at all surprising that Obama admires Fonda, We are talking radical leftists here. Heavens, there are SO MANY other great women to be admired, though! This is truly sad.
I have always viewed Fonda as an unattractive complete basket case, and very very un-admirable--and not just because of Vietnam. She is a self-absorbed mess. Plus, she doesn't even look good to me. I find the older you get, the worse you look if you are too thin. Is it really worth the hours per day she must spend on her body? Health is one thing, mindless obsession is another.
But I agree that Michelle Obama, overall, has been a good first lady, and is admirable, despite her and her husbands communistic leanings. I really like her focus on healthy eating and fitness for children. It's needed, and she has been a great spokesperson.

To each his or her own with regard to the role model aspect, but no one can deny that she has been nothing less than a fantastic first lady.

A grateful republican mom.
"First Lady Michelle Obama says Jane Fonda is one of her role models, and that she admires her political savviness."...
..."There’s Jane Fonda, a beautiful, engaged, politically savvy, sharp woman," Obama said.
I read where Fonda laid half the North Vietnamese army

Martha, your first paragraph describes nut-case Palin and I agree.
I also agree with your second paragraph regarding children and fitness.
What I don't agree with is the disgusting, totally unnecessary comment from coward " anonymous" at 11:34 AM
