Chris Christie's Lt. Governor is now at the Center of a New Controversy

Christie and Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno
She is often the smiling face at Gov. Chris Christie’s side, or his stand-in when there are ribbons to cut or appearances to make while he is traveling around the country or making TV appearances.
But today, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, Christie’s often silent partner, is being accused of being his heavy-handed enforcer, delivering an ominous message to Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer: help fast-track a redevelopment project in the tiny waterfront community or lose Hurricane Sandy recovery funding for her city.
Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer
Reached today on her cellphone — the number she freely shares at public gatherings with community and business leaders — Guadagno declined to discuss Zimmer's statements.
Christie spokesman Colin Reed released a statement attacking MSNBC's "gleeful" attack on the governor and his administration, and questioned Zimmer's motives.
"Governor Christie and his entire administration have been helping Hoboken get the help they need after Sandy, with the city already having been approved for nearly $70 million dollars in federal aid and is targeted to get even more when the Obama Administration approves the next rounds of funding," Reed said.

"The Governor and Mayor Zimmer have had a productive relationship, with Mayor Zimmer even recently saying she’s ‘very glad’ he’s been our Governor," Reed added. It’s very clear partisan politics are at play here as Democratic mayors with a political axe to grind come out of the woodwork and try to get their faces on television.”

I thought that last sentence was very unprofessional and unnecessary.

No doubt more of this is coming. It's a pile on, and there's no way for the rest of us to really know what is real.

This is standard political infighting from Democrats complaining that they wanted more Sandy money for their communities. The Lt. Governor didn't have anything to do with that part of the Christie admin. She works on business investment and development.

Much ado about nothing. This will all fizzle out and be forgotten in a few months, probably sooner. Plenty of time before the Republican nomination caucuses and primaries.

Cimbri, I wouldn't be so sure. A few more instances, and Christie is going to have a tough time coming back from it. Plus, it's a she said she said, and the benefit of the doubt is not necessarily going to Christie because he's already guilty of this sort of thing. And the mayor says she will do a lie detector test. She must be confident she'll pass it.

She probably waited until now due to fear of the Christie admin. He has almost unlimited power with his line item veto, and has never been shy about using it. I'd take her up on that lie detector test if I were Christie. Both take one and see where we stand.

I don't think she has a whole lot of credibility, but does it matter. Christie is going to have to keep fighting these things--true or not. And so it's going to hurt him

RW, If Sarah Palin said she was 'readier to be president" as Christie did, can you imagine the meltdown? lol

Yes no doubt on that one. The media assault on Christie still hasn't come remotely close to what Palin and her family endured. "Readier." Lol. As much as I don't like Christie, I'm not one to play grammar police. Who cares.

Bleeding support. New poll.

The mayor's story has changed a few times. It's covered pretty exhaustively on Hot Air. Taking a lie detector is meaningless, you just pick your tester and you will pass. You can also be mistaken and pass the test. They're just trying to bog down Christie. I still think it will go away. They don't have anything solid that ties Christie or the Lt. Governor to corruption.

I noticed Paul Ryan jumping up in NC in the polls, while Cruz and Christie (still leading) dropping. Ryan might be the compromise candidate for everyone.

Hmmmmm.....Cimbri already picking a new candidate. Very telling.

By the way....Cruz .going from 12% to 11% in the NC poll with a MOE of +/- 4.1% doesn't indicate a drop in support. I guess the same argument could be made for Christie with a 2 point drop to be fair. These polls really are meaningless at this point.

But Ryan definitely has a better shot that Christie as far as I'm concerned.

I just watched an extensive interview with Anderson Cooper. I do believe Mayor Zimmer is telling the truth here.
