Rand Paul (R-KY) outlined his plan to help revitalize economically blighted areas such as the bankrupt city of Detroit. He said that he would introduce legislation the next week week focused on economic freedom zones instead of stimulus packages. He said that a benefit of the approach would be less government regulation. Senator Paul responded to questions from members of the audience. He also talked about the Republican Party’s need for more diversity and said that his wife did not want him to run for president in 2016.
