2 Million PLUS Getting the Boot from their Current Health Care Plan

CBS News has learned more than two million Americans have been told they cannot renew their current insurance policies -- more than triple the number of people said to be buying insurance under the new Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.
There have been estimates about hundreds of thousands of people losing coverage, CBS News' Jan Crawford reported on "CBS This Morning." CBS News has reached out to insurance companies across the country to determine some of the real numbers -- and this is just the tip of the iceberg, Crawford said. The people who are opening the letters are shocked to learn they can't keep their insurance policies despite President Obama's assurances to the contrary.
The White House is on the defensive trying to explain it, after Mr. Obama repeatedly said, "If you like your doctor or health care plan, you can keep it."
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said, "What the president said and what everybody said all along is that there are going to be changes brought about by the Affordable Care Act to create minimum standards of coverage."
[...]
Obamacare forces them to drop many of their plans that don't meet the law's 10 minimum standards, including maternity care, emergency visits, mental health treatment and even pediatric dental care.

Credit to CBS for finally reporting a negative story about this regime, but "more than triple" is a little too kind. I doubt the actual enrollment numbers have topped 10,000, if you throw out the Medicaid enrollees.

It was (apparently) 93 million y'day. OB must be happy with that rapid an improvement.

Give it time RM. Even you may be out shopping.

As Millions of Americans lives are interrupted with the loss of Health Insurance THEY LIKED...the loss of their Doctor THEY WANTED TO KEEP...Take comfort in knowing that for..OBAMA. HIS TEAM, and Congress, life goes on unchanged and uninterrupted.

(2/93)X 100 = 2.15%

So, (100 - 2.15)% = 97.85%

I wonder if the GOP will be regurgitating that one- 97.85% improvement from the (apparent) 93 million figure in 24 hours.

Sebelius must be getting her act together after all. Promotion I reckon what that improvement?

Stated enrollment goal: 39,000 per day through March to reach goal of 7 million (stop and think about what a small percentage of the American people 7 million represents, by the way).

Day one enrollment: 6

So..... 6/39,000 = .00015385 or about .0015% of goal. And it hasn't gotten much better since.

Think again about what a small number the 7 million enrollment goal is. Sadly, that is looking incredibly unattainable. They destroyed our economy for this?

I'm sure everyone knows that enrolment will pick up.

Right Wingnut said...

If it picks up, it will because millions are being forced off their current plan. But they will not meet their stated goal of 7 million (only 2-3% of the population). How nice of them to blow up the health care system and economy for this, eh?

Actually.... 2.23% of the population to be exact. And they won't even come close to that.

RM, you must have reading comprehension difficulties. The Obama administration, in a report, estimated that Obamacare would force 93 million people to lose their health insurance. Now, last I checked, we are one month into this. (So far only hundreds of thousands have lost the plans they LIKED), but the estimate Obama gave of 93 million has yet to be realized. You're going to have to stay tuned over the next year. Not only did they predict this many cancellations, this is their plan!

Get it?
