OBAMACARE FIASCO: There were WARNINGS that the Site was NOT READY for PRIME TIME

Crammed into conference rooms with pizza for dinner, some programmers building the Obama administration’s showcase health insurance website were growing increasingly stressed. Some worked past 10 p.m., energy drinks in hand. Others rewrote computer code over and over to meet what they considered last-minute requests for changes from the government or other contractors.
As questions mount over the website’s failure, insider interviews and a review of technical specifications by the Associated Press found a mind-numbingly complex system put together by harried programmers who pushed out a final product that congressional investigators said was tested by the government and not private developers with more expertise.
[...]
Project developers for the health care website who spoke on condition of anonymity — because they feared they would otherwise be fired — said they raised doubts among themselves whether the website could be ready in time. They complained openly to one another about what they considered tight and unrealistic deadlines. One was nearly brought to tears over the stress of finishing on time, one developer said. Website builders saw red flags for months. (emphasis mine)

This rushing to get things done ANY OLD WAY to meet a deadline is nothing new and not only an OBAMACARE PROBLEM in this administration.

Bosman, I just read about the CoverOregon website--you know the one they've been advertising for months now? It doesn't work, either! I heard they spent from $3-10 million on those ads! But when you go there, it doesn't work!!! People are printing off forms and FAXING them in. So far 4000 people have enrolled. ha ha. Oh but don't worry! They're fixing it!

Problem is, it's not big news. Just a little sideline. You would think people would be outraged, but out here, faith in liberalism is blind.

Plus, 56,000 Oregonians were 'fast-tracked' into medicaid. Oregon sent out letters to 260,000 uninsured, and 56,000 of those are now enrolled in medicaid.

Who in the heck is going to pay for all these new medicaid patients? The young and healthy? Don't think so. This is the biggest gov disaster in my lifetime.

I think it would have been better to simply raise taxes, and put more people on medicaid, than to completely destroy healthcare for everyone! Now we are all going to pay far more, the gov is going to control every healthcare decision, our personal info is at risk, and the entire thing is unfair to healthy people. Plus, the require for docs to use the new system of online records, is messed up big time, and is going to cost lives.

Am I in favor of raising taxes? NO. But as far as bad options go, it would have been better. How sad is that?

Martha,

"Who in the heck is going to pay for all these new medicaid patients?"

YOU and ME and everyone else that have gotten increases this year on their premiums for extra coverage WE DON'T WANT OR NEED.

Get it done ANY OLD WAY. We don't care if the Technology used is 10 YEARS OLD and will be difficult to communicate with current more technical devices...WE JUST WANT IT FINISHED.

BAD DECISIONS made by INCOMPETENT PEOPLE led by an INCOMPETENT PRESIDENT.

Apologies for not being of the Mormon faith.

So is the lions share of people going to medicare rather than private insurance plans? Looks that way so far. If so the insurance co's will fold. Is that the point? I guess everyone knew from the outset that the majority of people would go into medicaid. This is crazy.

Wow. ABC evening news did it again. ObamaCare-one minute, 'shopping while black' twice as long. Good gravy!

Martha,

Young people not signing up to pay for old people and those with preexisting conditions is probably enough to destroy the private insurance industry. By the way, why would the 26 and under crowd sign up, when they can stay on their parents plan until 26? In other words, why would they pay for their own rather than let me, you and everyone else pay for it? No doubt this was designed to fail

Damn that Ted Cruz for making an effort to put a stop to it.

RW, yes, that is what I mean.

BTW, All Republicans have tried to stop it, and all have failed. There was never a good strategy. If it fails it will be from the law itself failing, not from Cruz.

Apology accepted Romneyman. It takes real conviction to stand your ground and defend what you believe. It's much easier to turn a blind eye when faced with overwhelming evidence that something isn't right. Great example is this administration's failed policies.
