Heartless Harry on approving a mini-spending Bill if it would help one child who has Cancer: "Why would we want to do that?"

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is blaming Republicans for the National Institutes of Health turning away cancer patients. But when asked why the Senate wouldn't try to help "one child who has cancer" by approving a mini-spending bill, he shot back: "Why would we want to do that?"
The tense exchange occurred Wednesday, as Senate Democrats tried to lambaste Republicans ahead of a vote where the House ultimately approved funding the NIH and other agencies -- a bid to ease the pain amid the budget stand-off.
Here's a reason Harry......
Reid has opposed the measures, saying that if Republicans want to end the government suspension they'll have to simply approve a "clean" budget bill -- devoid of any provision that would hurt ObamaCare.
But Reid was challenged at a Democratic press conference by CNN's Dana Bash about why the Senate wouldn't consider the NIH bill.
.....Here's another.....
"If you can help one child who has cancer, why wouldn't you do it?" she asked.
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., quietly asked, "Why pit one against the other?"
And Reid immediately chimed in: "Why would we want to do that? I have 1,100 people at Nellis Air Force base that are sitting home. They have a few problems of their own." (emphasis mine)

He's paid his penance now- it was all over the media enough.

It show that the media has a triple standard. This is much worse than Mr. Romney's 47% remark yet Mr. Reid almost gets a pass for promoting Cancer. Meanwhile, the media is going after Mr. Cruz even though he never promoted cancer of children nor did he even make a comment as crazy as 47%.

I'm a firm believer in that GUT/FIRST reactions come from the heart.

They're reactions that one hasn't had time to give the politically correct sniff test to. Reid regardless to what he says now. Spoke FROM THE HEART...and it wasn't very nice.

I was joking. Ther was hardly any media coverage of what was an epic gaffe. Don't even think of what it wold have been like if Romney would have said something like that.

Bosman, yes, we all know the real Harry Reid, sadly.

Harry would have been crucified by the media if he were a Republican. We should do whatever we can to help people realize that her really asked why he should worry about kids with cancer. Isn't helping even one child one of the great liberal lines? Somehow the press knows that Republicans knee-jerk don't care about children, women, gays, blacks, hispanics or anyone else, really, so they can excuse Harry Reid because they know his heart is in the right place, after all, he believes in abortion....
