What 'aligned' really means #CommonCore

If you only watch one video on Common Core, this is the one you should watch:

To watch Part 2, go here.

Standards are measurements with consequences. The curriculum, the teaching methods, the testing--all are made to meet the standards. So next time somebody tells you, "they're just standards," point them here.

Bush 43's No Child Left Behind act played a MAJOR ROLE in advancing the Common Core curriculum -

No Child Left Behind, BTW, was also endorsed by Mitt Romney -

When choosing presidents and presidential candidates, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!

Nice try. Romney never would have gone for Common Core, which is nothing short of a federal takeover of education. Romney also supports states rights, local control, parent choice/school choice, etc. But I see what you did there. Connect Common Core to No Child Left Behind to Romney's support of keeping teacher's unions in check, which he saw NCLB as doing. You should go to work for Governor Perry's campaign. They can always use good fact-conflaters.

No Child Left Behind - which Romney fully supported during his 2008 & 2012 presidential bids - was "A FEDERAL TAKEOVER OF EDUCATION".

When he ran for Senator in 1994, Romney supported abolishing the Department of Education, before FLIP-FLOPPING on that issue like he did on so many others when he ran for president.

For more on how No Child Left Behind is inextricably linked to Common Core, read on -
