Palin: 'If You Fund it You Own it!

Via Facebook:

Forced enrollment in Obama’s "Unaffordable Care Act" is weeks away. This beast must be stopped — by not funding it. Today, Todd and I joined with many of our fellow citizens to urge those in the U.S. Senate to not fund Obamacare.

We The People must continue to make our voices heard and hold those elected to serve this great nation accountable. Those in the Senate and those seeking to serve there must stand strong against this devastating program before it reveals its true face now recognized by both sides of the aisle as the bureaucratic and economic beast that will deny our families, our businesses, and our sick the ability to access health care.

The time for rhetoric and ceremonial votes in Congress is over. The time to take serious action to stop Obamacare is now. Join us in urging Senators — Don’t Fund Obamacare! Just remember — if you fund it, you own it!

- Sarah Palin

It will never work, RW. The Dems will simply say, "fine, we won't fund your latest weapon system", and that will be the end of it.

I admire the sentiment, and if I thought this would work, I'd be hell yeah do it. But it's far more likely to back fire and ruin 2014.

We need to face the reality of our situation. Obama wins these showdowns time and time again! We are between a rock and a hard place on this.

Martha, with all due respect, that sounds like a defeatest attitude. I believe all involved understand the long odds, but such has been the case too many times to count throughout the history of our nation.

I just signed the petition. Over 100k more have signed in the past 24 hours.

RW, yes, it does sound defeatist, but it's dealing in reality. We can't win by feeling good. We have to win where the rubber meets the road.

RW -

Defund ObamaCare?!?

OMG!!!

You must be CRAZY!!!

The BIG BAD LIBERAL MEDIA will eat us alive!!!

And then, in the 2014 midterm elections, all those moderate swing voters who ABSOLUTELY LOVE ObamaCare - all 29 of them - will run away from the GOP like bats out of hell!!!

Bad idea, RW!!! Very bad idea!!!

How DARE you suggest that the GOP TAKE A STAND on an issue that really matters, instead of casting meaningless symbolic votes to "repeal" ObamaCare and cowering in the corner at the mere thought of a government shutdown.

How DARE you suggest that GOP officeholders actually FOLLOW THROUGH on their campaign promises.

How DARE you suggest that the GOP actually USE the power of the purse granted them by the U.S. Constitution, the same power of the purse that the Dems use all the time.

After all, haven't you learned the lessons of history from the Gingrich-Clinton government shutdowns in 1995-96?

When the GOP RETAINED THEIR MAJORITY in the House of Representatives for the first time in 68 years - AFTER "shutting down" the government.

God forbid that the GOP EVER let that happen again.

No, no, no, we Republicans must all act like good little RINO's by giving nothing but lip service to conservative principles and never actually trying to DO SOMETHING that stops the Dems dead in their tracks.

Because that would be SACRILEGE!!!

And worst of all, Brian Williams, David Gregory and Chris Matthews will say VERY BAD THINGS about us, which they do all the time anyways.

FUND OBAMACARE!!! FUND IT NOW!!! FUND IT FOREVER!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong( I'm out walking the dog and can't look it up), but my understanding is that the GOP gained two Senate seats in 2006 despite losing six house seats (while maintaining control). Never mind the lack of evidence that the results would have been significantly different absent the shutdown. It wasnt the catastrophic loss some want us to believe it was.

People sure have short memories. The Dems in the executive branch will start blaming Rs for an impending stoppage of social security checks and the Rs will run for cover. You guys are really living in lala land.

Oops I meant 1996, not 2006.

It is a fantasy that you live in Newark. Where Bachmann, King, Haley or even Santorum can win a general election. So pardon me if I don't take you seriously.

Although I do like gov Haley a lot.

I guess I was wrong....

The Democrats picked up two House seats in 1996, while the GOP picked up two Senate seats.

Don't be silly, just act like the RIMO's instead: Republican in mouth only...moan and complain form the balcony like Waldorf and Statler, but offer zero alternatives.

Pity she is so stupid she can't think straight.

Hey Romneyman, what's the reason behind why you always state we need to offer alternatives? Is it because what exists today stinks? I'm just asking because you never address the mistakes of this administration and instead shield them by your silly narrative about how we need to offer alternatives, etc. I'm sorry you drank the kool-aid, but most of us haven't.
