I'll bet you didn't know that ‘rich white people’ caused Chicago's education mess

Geesh..and here I thought it was incompetent teachers, indiferent parents, kids who'd rather be somewhere else..oh, and the Teacher's Union milking the city for every penny they can get for their members.

Who knew?
In a scathing speech on Wednesday, the president of the Chicago Teachers Union charged that racism and “rich white people” are to blame for the immense financial crisis facing the Chicago Public Schools.
In her remarks to an audience at the upscale City Club of Chicago, union boss Karen Lewis strongly criticized Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. She also urged the city schools to follow the strategic blueprint of the Chicago Cubs baseball team.

“When will there be an honest conversation about the poverty, racism and inequality that hinders the delivery of a quality education product in our school system?” Lewis also asked in the speech. “When will we address the fact that rich, white people think they know what’s in the best interest of children of African Americans and Latinos—no matter what the parent’s income or education level.”

That's right. The problem is always white people and racism. That way no one ever has to be responsible our solve any problems. Sounds like she's just following the President....

But when so many Americans are politically bullied into political correctness, it is unfortunate that people will believe her. Just the mention of racism and then "rich white people" makes her seem righteous. I'm not white but even I can see through the smoke screen of hate to find true racism and hate in her words. Chicagos problem isn't the responsibility of a demographic, its the result of its politics and leadership. Don't just point at white people and scream racism, that's just being lazy.
