Gov Christie on a Sen Lautenberg Replacement: "I favor the people selecting who represents them, not me"

That's too bad. I prefer Republican Governors appointing Republican replacements for AS LONG AS ALLOWED. But that's just me:
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie set an Oct. 16 special election to elect a successor to Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who died Monday.
Christie announced the special election date at a news conference Tuesday in Trenton, a day after the Democratic senator died of complications from viral pneumonia. The primaries for the special election will be held Aug. 13.
"The issues facing the Senate are too important and too vital not to have an elected representative," said Christie. "I favor the people selecting who represents them, not me."
[...]
Christie said his reading of the New Jersey law was that he could appoint a temporary senator until the November 2014 elections, but he said he felt strongly about holding primary and general elections. (emphasis mine)

I am really beginning to despise this chump stain. I would never vote for this fraud Republican for anything. If the GOP is stupid enough to make this tool the nominee in 2016, I'm staying home.
