2nd Amendment Story: Veteran Charged for Firing Gun to scare an intruder

United States Army veteran, Corey Thompson, is facing charges for firing his gun to scare off a home intruder. On Fox and Friends, Thompson described the ordeal. He said it was around 11:30 p.m. when a man approached his Oregon home in a threatening manner. The stranger apparently tore up his patio chairs, yelled and banged on the house door.
Thompson told the man he was armed, but that didn’t deter the intruder. The two engaged in a confrontation on the front yard prior to Thompson firing a warning shot with his AR-15 assault rifle. “I was in fear of my life,” he said.
The gun was confiscated and Thompson was arrested. Lieutenant Mike Budreau of the Medford Police said there was “nothing that the suspect was doing that was aggressive enough to justify the shooting.”
