TEXAS: The War on Christmas is Over

The Texas Legislature has gone on the offensive in the so-called "War on Christmas," passing a bill making it legal for teachers to say, "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Hanukkah" during the December holidays.
Gov. Rick Perry plans to sign the bill into law.
"This bill is about the freedom of religion, not freedom from religion, and Gov. Perry supports it," his spokesman Josh Havens told The Huffington Post.
State Rep. Dwayne Bohac, a Republican, sponsored the legislation. He said he got the idea after his 6-year-old son told him his class had decorated the holiday tree with holiday decorations at school.

My kids have made a game out of standing near the Holiday Tree at their high school and calling it a Christmas tree loudly to see if the security guards say anything. So far....nothing. Of course, this is Arizona and pretty libertarian/conservative leaning.

My daughter did a project in her high school history class about who has had the greatest world impact. Her presentation was about Jesus Christ. At the end of the class period, the kids voted on who has had the greatest world impact; the winner? Martin Luther King. Not to denigrate Mr.King, but the ignorance or wilfull ignorance of these kids is astounding.
