Dope & Change: "Human Intelligence is on the Decline"

I'd vote for Obama again.
Did they really need to do a study to determine this? All I had to do was look at the last 2 Presidential elections. At any rate:
Our technology may be getting smarter, but a provocative new study suggests human intelligence is on the decline. In fact, it indicates that Westerners have lost 14 I.Q. points on average since the Victorian Era.

What exactly explains this decline? Study co-author Dr. Jan te Nijenhuis, professor of work and organizational psychology at the University of Amsterdam, points to the fact that women of high intelligence tend to have fewer children than do women of lower intelligence. This negative association between I.Q. and fertility has been demonstrated time and again in research over the last century.
But this isn't the first evidence of a possible decline in human intelligence.

Women of lower intelligence have children, unless they are religious women, of course.... That's a pretty stupid assumption. Maybe it has more to do with constantly drinking alcohol and the much more prevalent use of drugs. I always think of President Obama smoking choom with his buddies, and of how the press tells us he's so brilliant. Then I think of Mitt--not drinking, smoking, or using drugs, which is why he must be stupid. Oh, and he's religious, too, which automatically makes a person as dumb as a box of rocks. If I were comparing IQ's, I would bet on Mitt, no matter what the press says. He certainly exercises his brain more and spends a lot less time on the golf course!

I think some of this difference is that people have more leisure time, and they often have no work ethic. They aren't taught to use their minds, and visual entertainment is not as stimulating to the brain as reading, activity, or even radio.

There is a brain drain from public schools. I find this supposed study and their methods dubious and unlikely to be conclusive of anything. Everyone knows that educating our children has not been the focus of public schools for some time, and intelligence was dropped as a value some where along the way.

We've imported people from the coyote plains in mass, an infinite supply of uneducated and unskilled labor. This study almost certainly id not using samples of any significance.

Our standards have dropped, we elect drug users to be President of the United States. Nobody needs a rocket scientist to point this out. But it doesn't mean what they seem to claim.

Sounds like another lame excuse to not admit moral instruction is vital to civil life and civilized conduct.
