Associated Press Analysis: 2012 Presidential Election was the First Time Black Turnout Rate Surpassed Whites

H/T Joel2013

If the following is true, then there are a lot of White Assholes out there who we can all thank now for Obamanation Part 2:
America's blacks voted at a higher rate than other minority groups in 2012 and by most measures surpassed the white turnout for the first time, reflecting a deeply polarized presidential election in which blacks strongly supported Barack Obama while many whites stayed home.
Had people voted last November at the same rates they did in 2004, when black turnout was below its current historic levels, Republican Mitt Romney would have won narrowly, according to an analysis conducted for The Associated Press.
[...]
Romney would have erased Obama's nearly 5 million-vote victory margin and narrowly won the popular vote if voters had turned out as they did in 2004, according to Frey's analysis. Then, white turnout was slightly higher and black voting lower.
More significantly, the battleground states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida and Colorado would have tipped in favor of Romney, handing him the presidency if the outcome of other states remained the same. "The 2012 turnout is a milestone for blacks and a huge potential turning point," said Andra Gillespie, a political science professor at Emory University who has written extensively on black politicians...

Here's the problem...

....Rough calculations suggest that in 2012, 2 million to 5 million fewer whites voted compared with 2008, even though the pool of eligible white voters had increased.....

The whitest man in America, Mitt Romney, failed to turn out the white vote.

WRONG!

If the Most Incompetent Liberal Black man in America wasn't enough to bring these Whites out, There STILL ASSHOLES for giving us Obama.

Strangely enough, I think you're both right.

BOTH Romney AND non-voting whites were at fault for allowing the Imposter-In-Chief to win another 4 years in the White House. It was a joint effort.

Your two points of view are not mutually exclusive.

Who are the white people who didn't turn out. My guess is deadbeat potheads.

I actually agree with Bosman, but stand by my comment as well.

Agree with Bosman.

Disagree with Right Wingnut.

With exception to Mitt Romney, this years GOP field was perhaps the worst in history in terms of electability.

Everyone kept trying to compare 2012 to Carter vs Reagan. Reagan won by such a huge margin because the country had given up on Jimmy Carter. For 2012... the liberals had not given up on Obama.

Still... Romney lost by a suspiciously razor thin margin in 4 states.

Romney wasn't the problem. The problem was the idiots that voted for Obama again.

Both Mr. Romney (and Mr. Ryan) and the Obama voters were the problem. Two 2 guys pandered to White voters and still some White voters stayed home?! Not a very well run campaign.
