President Obama has no time to propose a Federal Budget...but has plenty of time to revive the Gun Control Fight

President Barack Obama is ready to hit the road on a new campaign-style public relations trip, hoping to breathe new life into the push for stronger gun control laws.
With Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid planning to bring a scaled back package of gun legislation to the Senate floor early next month, the White House is hoping they can rebuild some of the momentum that has been lost in the months since the Newtown shootings.
A White House official would not comment on the timing of more presidential travel, but said people should expect to see Obama travel outside DC to bolster his insistence that gun control measures "deserve a vote" in Congress.
[...]
The president got the ball rolling with his weekly address Saturday, which focused on gun violence. Obama called on congress take action.
"We've made progress over the last three months, but we're not there yet," he said. "And in the weeks ahead, I hope Members of Congress will join me in finishing the job – for our communities and, most importantly, for our kids."

Pushing for more gun control laws is a LOSING issue for Democratic candidates running for office in purple(swing) electorates because voters who oppose further gun control are far more numerous and passionate than voters who support it.

The proof is in the pudding.

In 2008 and 2012, Obama and Democratic candidates running in purple states and districts did NOT campaign on a need for tighter gun control laws.

Obama is "campaigning" on it now in order to raise funds for his political party, and because he's NOT running for re-election in 2016(hopefully).

But come 2014 and 2016, Democratic candidates running for office in purple electorates will all swear on a stack of Bibles that they fully support the Second Amendment and have no desire whatsoever to further restrict the people's right to keep and bear arms.

You can bet your house on that, if you still own one after 4 years of Obamanomics.
