Paul Ryan is the Man to Watch

At least according to 'The Insiders' at the Washington Post. According to the insiders the President would not get anything he backed passed in the House if it didn't have Ryan's blessing or at least his indifference:
It is all well and good for the president to schmooze with Republican senators. Each side might become better informed and more respectful of the other’s point of view as a result, and I hope something good comes of it.
But this Insider says the man to watch is Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). Ryan is ambitious and he is a thought-leader. He wants to be in a position where he can run for president in 2016, and he understands the budget better than anyone in the Republican ranks. Ryan won’t be fooled on substance and he won’t negotiate a deal that breaks with the conservative core of the GOP. Watch him on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace this Sunday, where he’ll discuss the new Republican plan to balance the federal budget in 10 years.

If the GOP ran Ryan, who could not even make his own home state even close in the prior cycle, then, well, there's no hope for them.
Ryan = another 4-8 years for the Dems, whoever was the Dem nominee.

RomneyMan -

I have to agree with you on that one.

Ryan's failure to win his VERY WINNABLE home state of Wisconsin for the GOP's 2012 presidential ticket was the death knell for his future political prospects at that level.

He better get used to being a Congressman, or perhaps a Senator, because that's as far as his political career will ever go.
