Are you kidding? Some Colleges don't care about GPA's

Here we have our public education system in the hopper, and I read crap like this:
Parents and their high school students are fascinated by the grade point average and what it means in college admissions, but the truth is that a number of colleges and universities are not all that interested.
Admissions officers at some of the nation's most selective colleges, who are now sending acceptance letters for their fall freshman classes, say they barely look at an applicant's GPA.
"It's meaningless," says Greg Roberts, admissions dean at the University of Virginia, ranked as the top public university in this year's 150 Best Value Colleges, published by The Princeton Review and based on academics and affordability.
"It's artificial," says Jim Bock, admissions dean at Swarthmore College, the top private college in The Princeton Review's Best Value rankings. So unimportant is the GPA that Swarthmore doesn't bother calculating it for guidebook publishers.

Yeh...GPA's are so unfair to those kids who copied their homework, cut classes, and spent most of the times that they did show up, aggravating the hell out of their teachers.

My guess is many of these colleges don't look at the GPA's because in many cases, they get what's left of those colleges that do. So they're forced to justify acceptance other ways.

Come to think of it...hahahaha.... we know Obama didn't get into Harvard Law School on his GPA's from Occidental College and Columbia. Must have been the Community Organizer stint that tipped the scale in his favor....do you think?

I do think what we're seeing is the pure politicization of everything. This is the opposite of what America stands for. It was hard enough to ever get merit based standards for government hiring. Remember civil service exams? What a joke. The merit system is the process of promoting and hiring government employees based on their ability to perform a job, rather than on their political connections. It is the opposite of the spoils system.

Now the 'colleges' don't accept according to academic standards? Sounds like the spoils system. They can't disprove this claim.

The end result is people becoming the king over a lump of dirt.

Or we could go back to not basing everything on whether or not a person is a Democrat, and we could be America again, where there is freedom and people have the ability to influence their future and say no to their employers.
