Welcome to Utopia!

In my other life, I'm a novelist who happens to read a lot in the dystopia genre. Here's a writer's perspective of what's going on in America. Not the state of our union, but the road of our union, and the inevitable destination to which it leads.

Every utopia/dystopia written has a strong central power in it, whether it's governments or corporations or churches. The stronger our government gets, the more we are headed for what some people imagine to be a utopia. But utopia doesn't exist, and soon what seems like a road to utopia becomes a destination—a dystopia fraught with revolution, oppression, and mass blindness. Just ask France; they've been through it enough times.

Op-Ed: Smiling and Clapping Our Way Toward Bankruptcy

About Joe:
Elected to the United States Congress in 2010, Joe refused his Congressional health benefits and pensions, slept in his office, limited himself to no more than three terms in office, and held more townhall meetings than any member of Congress.
He was one of the most outspoken and well known tea party members of Congress, becoming a lead advocate for the Balanced Budget Amendment, term limits, tax cuts, cutting off pay for members of Congress if they didn’t pass a budget, Second Amendment rights, and the State of Israel. He served on the Small Business Committee, the Committee on Homeland Security, and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Are you looking forward to the utopia our no-borders, no-religion liberal idealogue leaders are building?

Walsh has a lot of chutzpah. I saw him do a number on Chris Matthews a year or two back during an interview on 'Hardball'. He ripped Matthews to shreds. A real beat down. Poor Chris never knew what hit him.

Thanks, newark. Now I want to search out that video. Chris Matthews is not my favorite.
