Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-Va.) said on Tuesday that it’s “time to have a discussion” about arming school officials, in wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn.
“If someone had been armed, there would have been a possibility to stop the person from coming into the school,” McDonnell said on Washington’s WTOP radio’s “Ask the Governor” monthly program responding to a caller’s question. “I know there is a knee-jerk reaction against that, but I think we should have a discussion about it.”
He continued: “If a person [like Sandy Hook’s principal Dawn Hochsprung] was armed and trained, could they have stopped the carnage? Perhaps.”Read the full story HERE.

I like that he's speaking out and saying this right now. Good for Governor McDonnell. No one is talking much about him for president, but they should be.
And HECK YES, school administrators ought to be armed. It would have saved lives in Connecticut.

I agree with Governor McDonnell that we need a COMPREHENSIVE approach to reducing the number of mass murder incidents like the one that occurred in Newtown last Friday.
At the top of the list should be A LOT MORE armed & trained security personnel in public gathering places, and A LOT LESS prescribing of psychological medications to young children for simply being hyperactive, rambunctious or "abnormal"(whatever that means), as these medications often tend to backfire(no pun intended).
Prohibiting or restricting child access to violent movies, video games and rap/hip-hop music should also be on the table.
Taking guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens will only create more "gun-free zones" like the ones in Newtown, Aurora and Fort Hood that in recent years became the prime target of those sick individuals hellbent on committing murder and mayhem.
