Mitt Romney For President

As many of you know, I've long been one of Mitt Romney's fiercest critics. I even had an anti-Romney website, which I have now deleted.

I've stated several times that I may not vote for Mitt. I had actually been considering Gary Johnson. My justification was that my vote is unlikely to matter, considering that I live in Minnesota.

As it turns out, Mitt actually has a slight chance of carrying Minnesota. It's still a long shot, but recent polling indicates that it may be as close as low single digits. I would like nothing more than a Republican to carry my state for only the second time in my lifetime. Furthermore, I can't get past Johnson's isolationist foreign policy positions.

I don't have any illusions of Romney being the next Ronald Reagan. I have serious reservations about his windsock tendencies. However, it's never been more clear that our country cannot afford another term of the worst president in our nation's history.

RWN,

Your reasoning for voting for Romney is similar to my reasons for voting for McCain.

There was no alternative that could win.

I'd say welcome aboard, if you considered yourself a passenger of choice rather than necessity.

I don't care how you got here I am glad you showed up for duty. Welcome back. If you have any fight in you we could use you on the front line.

Bos,

What difference does it make? My vote counts the same either way.

I'm confident that Romney has one final success in his career. Will you like everything he does? Nope, nor will I. But I think, after 4 years, you will be pleasantly surprised at the turn-around this country has made.

That is, if this country isn't already lost. One man can't do it alone. We need all Americans to get behind the President who has positive ideas.

Lets just say that when I pulled the lever for McCain in 08, I wasn't a happy camper.

So I guess I'm saying to you....I've felt your pain.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I'm a solid social and economic Reagan Conservative. I did NOT want Romney in the primaries (although none of the candidates this year thrilled me for a variety of reasons. They all had their inadequacies). I have just feared that he won't completely repeal 0bamacare. However, once he picked Paul Ryan, I have been solidly on board. I too don't have illusions of him being 'the next Ronald Reagan,' but we can NOT afford another four years of Hussein without the need to be re-elected. Our country won't survive another four, let alone another 6 months of the spineless, useless narcissist known as Hussein 0bama! And he can take that America-hating First Linebacker with him too!

Bos,

I know several who voted for McCain who felt the same way, and I know several who share my views of Romney, but will vote for him. Obama has to go. Period.

RW, glad to hear it. This is kind of interesting, because many people have been skeptical of the existence of actual undecideds. Here we have a real live undecided, who is going with Romney. Now if you can get lion to come along, that would be even better.

cimbri,

I was never undecided about Obama.

I'm also skeptical of the existence of a significant number of undecideds. How could you be undecided about Obama at this point?? The only thing some are undecided about, is whether they will show up on Nov. 6th. This will be a turnout election that will likely come down to Ohio.

It is good to know that you've you've decided to pull the lever for Romney. As far as I am concerned your vote has always been important and am glad that you've changed your mind in regards to Johnson. Thank you!

Right Wingnut,

I am also a Minnesotan and I know of several people who voted for the Big O who are going to be voting for Romney. My friends and I are organizing an election party and I think we would be partyin all night long if Romney took MN. That would be truly historic.I also think Obamacare and the medical device tax may hurt Klobuchar along with the Petters case that Kurt Bills is pressing. Do you know if Bills and Klobuhar are going to debate?

It's good to see you back, RW. I was thinking about you (and some others from this website) the other day. I remember how I felt in 2008. I had to vote for McCain too many times, and I had been insulted by him, too. My sister and I took our barf bags with us to vote. In the end, there was no other choice I could live with. Now, I look back and I feel like a patriot; I'm glad I didn't participate in putting the current President into power. You, RW, are a patriot!
Living it.

Allow me to join the chorus and say thank you to RWN, and welcome aboard. I hope that 4 years from now you will be pleasantly surprised, and find yourself to be an enthusiastic Romney supporter.

I have been a Romney supporter for a long time, but winning the White House is only the first step. Well, actually it's the 2nd step. The first step was winning the GOP nomination, but still . . . Once Romney wins the White House, I expect him to live up to the promise. I will hold him accountable, and I know you will too.

Thanks, guys. I'm sure you all weren't losing sleep over who I would vote for, but we've all had some heated moments. I'm willing to put those aside for the next two weeks. If ObamaCare does not get repealed in it's entirety with 3 months of his taking office, the gloves come off again. ;)

Leighrow,

Klobachar is ahead by 20-30 points in the polls. You're intentions are good, but it's a lost cause.
