FACT CHECK: FALSE – Romney Only Told Flood Victim: ‘Go Home And Call 211'

The Liberal media is at it again.  I'm sure no one reading this is shocked that the Huffington Post would write a misleading title like, “Mitt Romney To Flood Victim: 'Go Home And Call 211.”  At least other papers told the whole story.
"He [Romney] just told me to, um, there's assistance out there," Jodie Chiarello said of her conversation with Romney.
"He’s good. He’ll do the best for us. He has our best interests at heart. I thought he’d be more like a politician, but it was more understanding and caring."

Romney will win despite the lies, but his margin of victory will be far, far, far smaller than it would be if we had a truly fair, balanced and diverse media.

The real problem, however, is not the dishonest media, but the publicly owned, publicly licensed bully pulpit - aka the public airwaves - that we provide them.

Contrary to urban legend, the constitutional right of free speech and freedom of the press does NOT include the right to monopolize scarce FCC broadcasting licenses.

Having an FCC broadcasting license is a privilege, not a right.

When broadcasters abuse that privilege by relentlessly disseminating propaganda, misinformation and outright lies, the American people have a right and a duty to withdraw that privilege.

But this will never happen unless there is widespread outcry from the people demanding that the FCC ENFORCE the Communications Act of 1934, which specifically PROHIBITS broadcasters from using the public airwaves for partisan political purposes.

Republicans can complain about media bias until the cows come home, nothing will change unless
we stand up for our Constitutional and legal rights.

The MSM is running scared. Their mission is to drag Obama across the finish line, and they're terrified of failing in that all-consuming task. Whatever they say, BELIEVE THE OPPOSITE, until independent confirmation has been done.

Some papers quote the woman saying that and others quote the woman without the "211" statement. Just because you managed to dig up two papers -- one of which is a right-wing news source -- doesn't mean he didn't say it. I am pretty sure he said it, as even the AP quoted her saying that he said to call 211.

Doesn't matter anyways. After that horrific RNC performance by Ryan, there is no way Romney will even sniff 170 Electoral Votes
