Ron Paul Campaign Stops Rumors Of RNC Rule #11 Violation

Over the past week rumors have spread stating the GOP was in violation of the RNC Rule 11 for supporting Mitt Romney's campaign.

The rumors were exacerbated by Jeffrey Bales, a Ron Paul supporter, and also an "At Large" member of the Arizona Pima County REC.  Mr. Bales wrote a personal P.R. article calling for the "Resignation of RNC Chairman Reince Preibus."  The article was spread around the Ron Paul fan websites.  Following Mr. Bales lead, these sites also requested that Chairman Preibus be removed, as well as of Mitt Romney's delegates to be unbound.

Congressman Paul's campaign must have been contacted about these rumors as he put a stop to them today.

Ron Paul's National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton (who is also Ron Paul's grandson-in-law) issued this press release today, which is also posted on the main Ron Paul website:

RON PAUL CAMPAIGN STATEMENT CONCERNING RNC RULE 11
“CHAIRMAN PRIEBUS HAS ALWAYS TREATED DR. PAUL AND OUR TEAM WITH RESPECT, AND WE APPRECIATE HIS LEADERSHIP.” – JESSE BENTON
LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Responding to complaints that the Republican National Committee has violated Rule 11 by setting up RNC Victory Operations while Dr. Paul still seeks the nomination, the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign issued the following statement.
Below please find comments from National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton:
“In April, the RNC asked our campaign for our blessing to begin assembling the Victory organization Republicans will require to guarantee a win in the fall.  Building such an operation is no small undertaking, and our Party needed to build in a few months what the incumbent president has been building for four years.
“The RNC offered to set up a joint fundraising committee with the Paul campaign and were very clear that if Dr. Paul became the nominee, the Victory Operation would be behind him 100 percent.  They also were clear that they would hold off if our campaign objected.  I gave my full consent for the RNC to move forward.
“Chairman Priebus has always treated Dr. Paul and our team with respect, and we appreciate his leadership.  He has been an outstanding chairman and has our full confidence.”
Mr. Bales should have shown restraint by contacting the Ron Paul campaign to verify the facts before spreading rumors.  Perhaps he may have saved himself and the Pima County REC a lot of embarrassment.

Doesn't change the fact that the RNC is still attempting to block Paul from the nomination.

Who cares? Ron Paul is the best candidate.

The RNC is blocking Ron Paul from winning the nomination? Seriously? Do you know how foolish you sound? Ron Paul id the best candidate? Really? You're joking right? This statement is even funnier than the first one! The only thing that is stopping Ron Paul's candidacy is the fact that the overwhelming majority of republican voters don't want to vote for him, plain and simple. Voters have rejected his ideas and his policies. No conspiracy here. He ran. He lost. Get over it.

Oh please. The Paulbots have been doing everything they can to bend the rules and claim support they do not have. In fact, I think they have actually helped bring about the demise of the caucus in many states with their unethical behavior.

And now they whine.

No, nearly 6.5 million voters for Romney, compared to under 1.5 million votes for Paul make Romney the clear winner of the People. If the Paul delegation thinks it could gain the full support of all Republicans in Nov with their antics displayed in ME, WA, AZ, OK, MO, and other places, they're crazy.

Anon 103, it looks like the enitre GOP is trying to block your little man from the nom. You see, it's called THE VOTE. Deal with the fact that Paul is not that popular, unless your 12-20 and like to fight in places other than in uniform.

This will be the first of a series of smackdowns by the Ron Paul campaign of the anarchist subset of his broader support base. This subset is not so much interested in politics or the constitution as they are in anti-establishment, subversive behavior.

If Ron Paul wasn't in the picture, they'd find other outlets for their need to rebel against something.
