Mitt Romney visits a charter school in Philadelphia, PA (FULL VIDEO 05-24-12)

Mitt Romney visited a West Philadelphia charter school on Thursday to illustrate how his education policies would improve schools. He participated in a roundtable discussion with teachers and principals at Universal Bluford Charter School, a majority African-American elementary school.

Romney announced his plans for education in a speech Wednesday to a group of Latino business owners. The plan would reduce class sizes, change education funding formulas, encourage more charter schools, and allow parents to choose where they children attend school.

Romney has a reputation, both in his business career as well as his political career, that he welcomes, and even insists upon hearing opposing viewpoints. He was certainly challenged on at least two of his points, specifically class size, but he didn't seem uncomfortable to me. He heard and appreciated opinions different from his own.

I think to a certain extent his point was misunderstood. He was not saying that the bigger the class size the better, and that is what some of the teachers seemed to think he meant. His point was that class room size was not a significant factor to school success.

The other point that he was challenged on is the value of testing.

These are legitimate disagreements, and Romney sought and received the opinions of the people who work on the "front lines" so to speak, of education.

I didn't think Romney was uncomfortable. I think the meeting was very engaging. I found the teachers' and administrators' comments to be respectful and insightful. If you read between the lines, they are hoping for the change that didn't come with the last potus.

Anything for a PHOTO-OP! This guys could care less about the issues of minorities. This is simply a ploy to appear as though the plight of the common man / women is a concern. He has NOT attempted to address a audience of people of color so this is nothing more than BS!! Not only are the Black & Hispanic vote a concern of his but the GOP give me the impression that a means to eliminate their voting blocks are in the bag. Simply put: DON'T TRUST THIS GUY

Romney has a record. And his father had a record. They do care about issues of minorities.
