Swing State Analysis: Nevada

I am going to be starting a series on how Romney can win some of the swing states in the general election. Here is the link to the first one on Nevada. Warning: it is rather long. I would post it here but I am trying to explore ways to use my excel charts in blogger.

If anyone has some better ideas, let me know.

Pablo,

The link you supplied does not work.

I know web devs frown on tables, but this is exactly what a table is used. Web devs frown on tables, because newbies use them instead of using CSS.

Just edit the blog post from the code tab and use the table, tr, and td tags

Pablo, are you Paul Talley?

"I currently live in the Middle East and most of my writing will deal with current political movements in that part of the world. I have a graduate degree from the University of Miami and an undergraduate degree from Bob Jones University. Politically, I lean slightly to the right, but I have no ideological goals with this blog. I simply want to understand the world."

Good piece. Thanks.

I'd love to be wrong, but I see a fairly easy Obama win in the fall. The polls will close a bit for sure, but I can't see Obama not getting a 2nd term, unfortunately.
THe GOP in in-fighting takes it toll. How'd have believed at the time of the 2010 mid-terms that 2 years later Obama would cruse to a 2nd term. UnreaL.

I wonder how many Mormon voters stayed home in 08 when Romney lost the nomination to McCain?

This time around I would imagine a huge turnout there for Romney.

The big problem is that you used PPP, a notoriously bad polling company. Use Rasmussen, even Gallup is sometimes acceptable.

Pablo,

You have a gift for data analysis.

I don't believe the VP will be Rubio or Martinez. I'm hearing Portman at this point, has the inside track.

So Romney will have to attract Hispanics some other way

1. Yes, Pablo is Paul Talley. Don't tell anyone.

2. The Mormon factor is a good point. I think I will look into that. That might help Romney in Nevada. But it has hasn't according to recent polling.

3. Thanks Bosman. I think Portman is way too white and boring and that is coming from somebody like me, who is way too white and boring. Romney really needs a woman. That will be my next post.

First Anonymous,

It seems to work for me. Can anyone else not download the file?

"...who
has
spent
 much
 of
 the
 primary
season
blasting
 illegal
immigrants, ..." I strongly disagree. Romney NEVER did that. Many people speak up strongly against lawlessness, BUT that is not the same thing. Romney is aware of the hypocritical Left's position in favor of modern slavery.

As for Nevada, Obama stiff'd the state in a royal way. You underestimate the damage Obama has done to himself all by himself. He didn't need any help.

2010 House landslide is best indicator of Obama's coming Fate. As Willy Wonka would say, "You get nothing. [you stole trillions]"

Obama was a one-man "wrecking Nevada" crew. If they want to stop the slippery slope Obama put them on, Nevada will vote against the tyrant.

Romney's not the flip-flopper boogie-man of the Media's deceitful imagination. After the liberal Media's massive attempt to cast Romney as too timid and a predator both, Nevada can see America Needs Mitt.

All people understand national bankruptcy and national defense. Unlike liberals, many like America and sacrificed to get here. Unlike Democrat Party, Latinos tend to be religion friendly.

When someone tells me "the PPP polling indicated ...", I stop listening. PPP isn't authentic or reliable information.

Americans aren't putting the America-hating Obama family back into the White House; they will be voted a permanent vacation.

Remember this? I know Nevada remembers.

"Family Budget Advice from Obama? Don't You Dare Gamble with His Money"

http://townhall.com/columnists/dankennedy/2010/02/12/family_budget_advice_from_obama__dont_you_dare_gamble_with_his_money

In lecturing Americans about blowing our money, The Great Obama displays breathtaking gall. Given that he is blowing trillions of our money, not his, and burying us in debt as no president in history, silence on the subject would seem more reasonable.

"Here are the facts. Half the country -- yes, I said half -- do not pay taxes at all. Zero! The majority of federal income taxes (70%) are paid by the top 10 percent of income-earners. As for Obama's claim that we can solve America's financial problems by forcing the rich to pay more, it is despicable, manipulative, and hate-inspiring nonsense.

There are only 8,000 Americans who earn over 10 million dollars per year. If Obama confiscated all their money, it would finance our government for only 24 days. Then what?"

http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/02/americans_are_better_than_who_obama_thinks_we_are.html#ixzz1rHoOYIik

"AMERICA IS NOT THE OIL-POOR COUNTRY OBAMA SAYS IT IS The truth is, America, the vast majority of America’s oil reserves are simply roped off. Solely for political reasons. Solely for re-election reasons. Brazil, China and Cuba – yes, Cuba - may soon be drilling off our coasts where Obama refuses to allow American oil companies to drill. Hell – Obama invites Brazil to drill off U.S. coasts."

http://mikesright.wordpress.com/2012/03/19/america-is-not-the-oil-poor-country-that-obama-says-it-is/

Gallup explained, "The 50% approval mark is a crucial one for presidents in a re-election year. All incumbents who have been elected to a second term had a 50% or higher average approval rating by February of that year..." Obama was at only 45%.

Obama will lose Nevada for the same reasons he's not viable any where else. He's a con man, no constitutional scholar, and an enemy. Nevada has more cause to kick Obama out of office than most states, except for Arizona.
