Mitt Romney Saved Six People and Their Dog From Drowning

It’s a story that’s not often told. Mitt Romney at his family’s summer home in Wolfeboro, N.H. on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee whisking into the night on a Jet Ski with two of his sons to rescue a drowning family of four, their two friends, and their dog.

On the weekend of July 4th, 2003, the Romney family was enjoying their picturesque summer home in New Hampshire on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. In the early evening, according to reports at the time, Craig Romney and his older brother Josh were cleaning up the beach while their father rummaged through the garage. Suddenly, screams from the lake broke the silence.
"We heard a whole bunch of screaming," Josh Romney told the Boston Herald. The Romney brothers and their father quickly raced to their Jet Skis. "We tore out of there and my dad hopped on the other Jet Ski and came out right after us."

Romney's most characteristic moments are revealed when no one is looking. As here, when he and his sons spring into action to save a drowning family -- and dog.

If you want to know Romney's personality type, it's ENTJ: http://www.personalitypage.com/ENTJ.html. Mitt is a natural leader. And it shows.

I wonder if this story will get as much media coverage as the dog-on- the-car-roof story.

I think not.

But if Obama had rescued those 6 people and their dog, it would be front-page news and non-stop headlines for weeks.

I remember this story...to correct a slight error that it was never publicized, they had a press conference on the shores of the Lake as soon as it was over to extol his bravity. actually, everyone had the chance to look...that's what this guy was about when he was governor of my state.

drowning family? life vests and 300 yds from shore? I think not.

He did what all of us--with a jet ski--would do. no way is this heroic: there was no risk to him.

To the previous Anonymous poster who thinks it was no big deal that the Romney's saved these people and their dog. I live on Lake Winnipesaukee and you do not want to be out on that lake in the dark. When their boat sank, they were literally invisible to oncoming boats, and BIG boats fly into Wolfboro bay, even a Jet ski is taking your life in your hands in the dark. I remember the incident well and the Romneys did not hold a presser, the press heard about it and came to them!!
