PETTY SANTORUM ENDORSES OBAMA OVER ROMNEY

Perennial GOP cry baby and douche bag Rick Santorum said today de facto GOP nominee Mitt Romney is so much like President Obama, voters in the fall might as well stick with the incumbent.

Yes,  you read that right.
The emotionally immature Santorum, whining at a campaign event in San Antonio, reprised his ridicule of the front-runner as the Etch A Sketch candidate, who will change his positions after the primary.

"You win by giving people a choice," he said. "You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there. If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future."

According to CBS NEWS....The Romney campaign fired back;

"I was disappointed to hear that Rick Santorum would rather have Barack Obama as president than a Republican. This election is more important than any one person. It is about the future of America. Any of the Republicans running would be better than President Obama and his record of failure."

-----------------

Thanks to the spiteful, petty and holier-than-thou egotism which has marred the failing Santorum's political career from the get go, I once again find a reason to post one of my favorite quotes from classic cinema.

This little insightful little gem comes from the social-romantic comedy  - The Philadelphia Story (1940).

In the film, Jimmy Stewart – as a cynical reporter covering an upper class society wedding – discovers towards the end of the story – the rich ex-husband (Cary Grant) of soon to be re-married Katherine Hepburn, has it in spades over the “regular man of the people" groom she is planning to marry...

“Well, I made a funny discovery. And in spite of the fact that somebody’s up from the bottom, he can still be quite a heel. And even though somebody else is born to the purple, he-he can still be a very nice guy.”

It seems after Santy’s revelation today, a lot of folks are all making a funny discovery of their own.

Nice reference to Philadelphia Story. Classic! He's definitely "quite a heel". Agreed amigo.

Think back to the debates, and this should surprise no one. I gave him the benefit of the doubt at first because he seems to be a good family man.

But we all know how petty, arrogant annoying and preachy he was in the debates. Now we know that he has some severe deficits.

Apparently PA knew something we didn't know.

Now we know.

How any self-respecting Republican can support this bottom feeder is beyond me.

I hope Romney pummels him and then offers him a job in the Administration.

Cleaning out Ann's stables. Only thing he is good at...shovelling sh...well you get the idea.

Great post Doug,

You captured the essence of Ricky. A two faced hypocrite and perfect Horse's Ass.

Both Santorum and Arlen Spector must be admirers of Benedict Arnold. I think everyone is now seeing the "REAL" Rick Santorum and why he lost his 3rd term to the U.S. Senate by 18 points!

Little Rickie is a career politician and influence peddler who is looking out for his own interests...not what is best for the country. He will schill for whomever gives him the most money and that would include the DNC.

As far as I am concerned Gingrich has the same character traits as Santorum. If I were Romney and if Romney does win the presidency,I would not trust these two to be part of his administration. Bachman and Ron Paul yes but Santorum and Gingrich no way.

Comparing Romney to Cary Grant—now that’s a woman’s dream ticket!

Santorum’s comment today—that we might as well keep Obama in office for four more years rather than elect Romney—is a new low for a campaign already scraping the bottom of the barrel. I used to think Santorum had brains and was just auditioning for the wrong job. But the facts have proved me wrong. He is a complete dunce. He’s juvenile, intemperate, and self-indulgent. He says whatever pops into his head, and relies on a complicit media to cover for him. (After all, he’d be such fun to mock during the general election!) His wife is ten times smarter and more mature than he is, although she is just as rigidly moralistic.

Does anyone remember the “Little Rascals” episode when Spanky’s mother tries to yank him off the stage with a hook during his disastrous performance of Marc Antony’s speech: “Friends, Romans, and countrymen, lend me your ears . . .?” Can we find someone to yank Rick off the stage? Is there a hook big enough to snag his giant ego? He’s got to go. Now.

I've seen the fallout from this statement. A lot are jumping off of Santorum's train. It will be a flood. I've also seen the disillusioned fall in line and try to explain the statement.

This is damaging, so damaging that Rick will only have his die-hards left. He only had the ABR crowd now because he was the only guy left. I do expect to see Newt get a small rise from this. But I think most people are done.

They've seen Romney talk the talk, walk the walk, look and act Presidential. The primary race is over.

Newt Gingrich responded too saying: "Rick Santorum is dead wrong." I was shocked that Santorum would pretend to be a Democrat leader in a robocall to Michigan Republicans urging them to join fellow Democrats in voting against Romney. Now this statement promoting Obama over a Republican-- it's way beyond the pale!

I also find the juvenile "douche bag" comment very offensive and unacceptable in mature conversation.
