I think it's safe to say that Romney won't win the straw poll this year, and that's probably a good thing.

I think CPAC should probably just go away.

I do hope Romney gives a great speech, and does something a little unexpected to shake things up a bit.

Why should it go away, Martha?

RW, CPAC makes me cringe a little, not because of the speakers--most are very good. I just think it's not run very well, and it gets to be a little embarrassing. They either need to step it up a notch, or stop doing it.

I was really embarrassed the year Rush spoke. He came off as an ass, was ill-prepared (kept repeating himself), and the woman who introduced him made some creepy joke about sex in the back of a car while listening to Rush.

If we want to attract people to our side, we need to make these conferences a whole lot more professional.

Paul isn't there this year.

Anything goes now on the straw poll.

Mitt always gives inspiring speeches at CPAC and he stands a good chance of winning poll. He even won when he announced he was suspending his campaign in 2008. Our country needs Mitt, not the usual suspects like Santorum who claims to be conservative but then his voting record (pork loving) says otherwise.

I have no doubt that Palin will use her keynote address to diss Romney again. The woman is obsessed.

Annoy Sarah Palin . . . vote Mitt!
(I saw that somewhere and thought it was priceless.)

Romney definitely won't be winning the straw poll this year...especially with Palin headlining the conference. There's going to be a lot Romney bashing taking place all accross the convention. Moonbeam and Sarah will have complementary speeches that seek to undermine Romney.

It's funny how just three years ago, Laura Ingrahm introduced Romney's speech labeling him the Conservative's conservative. Gotta love the inconsistency of our own media...
were they just just pretending then, or are they just pretending now...it's anybody's guess.

Gordon,

Palin is giving the keynote. The voting ends right before her speech. You won't be able to blame Romney's loss on anything she says. Nice try.
