The Gift That Keeps On Giving: Gingrich's Pious Baloney

Newt Gingrich, in a sadly common false dilemma statement, has suggested that Mitt Romney should drop out of the race should he loose his "home state" in the upcoming Michigan primary. First off, Mr. Gingrich himself has spent an inordinate amount of time and money falsely accusing Mitt Romney of being a "Massachusetts Liberal". Now Mr. Gingrich would like to ignore the fact that Mitt Romney's adoptive home state is Massachusetts where he is leading the polls by 48%. Secondly, if he were to win Arizona, that shares a primary date with Michigan, and loose Michigan he would still be the front runner and ahead in delegates, wins, and total votes. It looks like Michigan will be a tough fight for Mr. Romney but he only trails slightly behind Rick Santorum and it is not a winner take all event. Newt Gingrich on the other hand trails nearly everyone in the upcoming contest.

Gingrich has tried to define himself as the smartest guy in the room. Some of us were taken in by the cleverness of his argument and the sharpness of his rhetoric but after several performances the fallacies and contradictions have become painfully obvious and on many occasions absurd. This is yet another absurdity to add to the ever growing Newtlear Gingrich file. Isn't it interesting that the candidate who has lost all but one primary has asked those who have won more delegates and contest to leave the race on numerous occasions? It smacks of Napoleon like egocentrism. It's like Somali pirates demanding the USS Nimitz's surrender. It's like a mouse demanding the cat moves out. It's like Fat Albert telling Barney Fife to loose some weight. It's preposterous! It really demonstrates the disdain that Newt Gingrich must have for the intelligence of the American people. He believes that if he shouts it loud and long we might start to believe it's true. Not this time Newt. Nice try.

great post, love the insight. One wonders if Newt is suffering from a brain cloud.

Yeah...Definitely a "Brain Cloud". I wish he's take a leap into the big Woo. Probably wouldn't expel him though. Classic reference!

The mouth that roared. His name hardly comes any more, except probably in Georgia. I assume he thinks that if you win your "home state" that means something. The end-game is total delegate count.
Romney people need to keep the faith, and particularly keep the momentum looking to the long game.

Ha ha ha ha! and he even says it with a straight face. This is clearly more evidence of Newt's psychopathology.
