The South Carolina Atlantic endorsement must have sent him over the edge.

Huntsman got the endorsement of South Carolina's biggest paper "The State", and I bet they are embarassed. What is interesting is in the actual endorsement itself, it only listed Romney and Huntsman as the 2 best candidates running, saying Huntsman is the better of the two. I guess that means they are switching their endorsement to Romney......wwoooohoooooooooo!!!!!

I'm not surprised Huntsman is stepping down, I am surprised that he is endorsing Romney, given his jealousy of him. I guess God does soften the hearts of man.....GO MITT!!!

Anon @11:21: I found that quite interesting, too. Just 1 day after a major endorsement, Huntsman embarrasses The State. Granted, it is better than embarrassing himself on Thu. Having missed the ballot registration in 3 states, having nearly no organization beyond NH (where he got a very disappointing 3rd... where he won the Democrat vote), having essentially no money except for his family's money, having squandered that money on attack ads instead of promo ads, he finally had to see the light.

The State embarrassed itself by endorsing Huntsman, Huntsman didn't embarrass them. It was obvious that Huntsman had no role in this race anymore other than help Santorum or Gingrich win South Carolina, the state were Romney did worse in 2008 than any of the other 30 states before his withdrawing from the race, except for Arkansas, Huckabee's home state.

The State said that basically Romney and Huntsman are the only serious left, and their endorsing of the one who could only help the non-serious candidates win SC, and encourage this not-Romney crap in media and just make the primary longer and dirtier, that should make them embarrassed.
