Quote of the Day (PART 2)

“Really poor children in really poor neighborhoods have no habits of working and have nobody around them who works. So they literally have no habit of showing up on Monday. They have no habit of staying all day. They have no habit of ‘I do this and you give me cash,’ unless it’s illegal.” ~ Newt Gingrich 12-01-11

That aught to win over independents!

The people he's talking about either don't bother voting, or are Obama voters. "More free stuff."

That's it, a little class warfare. except for some reason, he thinks attacking poor people is a good thing. I agree with the premise here, that poor kids don't have role models, but for a man who's supposedly "brilliant," this is a stupid way of putting it.

Very dumb statement, that will get lots of play. Tomorrow's headline: Gingrich calls poor kids - Thieves.

Newt is such a pompous ass. Just a day or two ago he was yammering on about how he himself came from humble stock..unlike that rich guy Romney..

Wow! His opponents need not make any attack ads. Newt is going to sink himself.

Machtyn, Obama will not need to lift a finger against Newt.

RW, he might have been talking about "Obama voters" and people who want "free stuff" but he didn't specify, he made a general statement about poor people. Not all poor people are Democrats, and not all poor people are lazy or dishonest, and I think Newt would do well to clarify that.
