Mitt Romney Interview with The Des Moines Register editorial board (FULL VIDEO 11-09-11)

Mitt Romney portrayed himself today as a sober, seasoned alternative to Newt Gingrich in the Republican race for president.

The former Massachusetts governor suggested to the Des Moines Register editorial board that he has had more experience leading organizations than the former U.S. House speaker has had.

When asked to compare himself to Gingrich, Romney said: “Tell me about the person’s capacity to lead. Has the person been a leader before, and how do they lead? What kind of job did they do? What did the people around them think about that job? What is the enterprise that they led? How did it do under their leadership?”

He noted that he has led two successful businesses, an Olympics and the state of Massachusetts. He noted that most of his career has been spent in the private sector. “Speaker Gingrich has spent the last 30, 40 years in Washington. Nothing wrong with that. It’s just different.”

“I respect the speaker as a very bright and capable guy, but we’re very different people,” Romney said. “…We’ve followed very different paths. And I happen to think that at a time like this, someone who has spent their career in the private sector, and who has led time and time again in the private sector, and also in the governmental sector, has by far the best chance of defeating the president and fixing the country.”

Cain drops in polls, numbers go to other man, both (shall I say three) of them experienced the same
thing in the nineties . An ex adulterer in the oval office and a first lady who had an affair with a married man. Is this the kind of role model that we want our children see? Hypocracy is the buzz word here.
Protect our children. They are not political ( pandering, expediency, etc), and they need a God fearing leader in the white house as their role model.

I watched to this entire (hour+) interview with the Des Moines Register Newspaper. I am 100% committed to Gov. Romney. I felt he came across the most relate-able to the people only during the last 3 or four minutes. It felt then more like he was talking from his heart - talking to ME. After watching every debate, yes all of them, and everything possible about Gov. Romney online and in the news, I've detected a slight stutter in his speach that makes him sound a bit uncertain when one hears him. Maybe that's why he seems to dislike live interviews? And it's all the more reason to speak from his heart so people will "connect" with him. This slight stutter could explain why the question on the cover of TIME - why don't people like me? It's not that people don't like Gov. Romney, it's that stutter that gives the impression of being uncertain, that folks may be hearing and not realizing its a speech fault he can't help.
