Newt down 9, but nobody else is gaining from it. Many voters apparently favor NONE OF THE ABOVE.

I know youre itching to write a post celebrating MItt breaking through the 25% threshhold. Why has that not happened yet?

I did a post but it disappeared and I don't have the energy to do it all again...suffice to say that in answer to RWN's question is might be because cry babies like him have decided that if their candidate can not win then we might as well re-elect Obama by screwing things up for the only candidate who has a chance of beating him.

In fact, I think that lot of the talk radio people are hoping for an Obama win because they think it is good for them and their ratings..screw the rest of us.

But one thing is for sure..thus far for all the hateful crap thrown at Romney the rest of the candidates don't seem to be able to knock him out of the race.

I'm itching to write a post with Mitt Leading in Iowa, NH, SOUTH CAROLINA, and FLORIDA.

Probably within the next 10 days!

He doesn't have to break 25% yet. Just DO 1 Point BETTER than the individual members of the motley crew

Bosman..I saw a post at the Daily Caller that said unless people coalesce around another candidate all this antiRomney talk is just talk.

Maybe they will pick Ron Paul and then Bachmann can start releasing excerpts from that creepy newsletter of his.

Terrye,

All these folks have very large egos, I don't expect any of them to drop out until after NH.

Bosman..that is probably true.

I would predict that about one quarter of the Gingrich bleed-off will go to Romney. The rest will scatter evenly among R Paul, Bachmann, Perry, and Santorum. None will go to Huntsman. No more flavor-of-the-months will emerge, Santorum being the only one among those yet unselected that could be viable in IA. There is insufficient time for a rally to a new FOM; chaos will reign among the ABRs in the last two weeks before caucuses as they struggle with the decision to abandon Gingrich. Result: Mitt wins IA, and then Palin and DeMint jump on board after NH. The ABRs are disgruntled, but lack sufficient influence to effect a stalemate/brokered convention.

I should amend that to say: about one third of the Newt bleed-off will go to Romney. Half of that amount will represent a return home to Mitt anyway. A lot of Iowans will be influenced by Dole, among other coming endorsements. Sanity will reign, the early primaries will strengthen Romney, the majority of conservatives will rally to him, and the dissenters will be left behind. This is the beginning of the end of controversy.

".suffice to say that in answer to RWN's question is might be because cry babies like him have decided that if their candidate can not win then we might as well re-elect Obama by screwing things up for the only candidate who has a chance of beating him." Now that is nothing, but spewing non-sense. To suggest that every undecided voter will vote for Mr. Obama in the general election is crazy talk. Speaking of voting for Mr. Obama, you might want to talk to your sour grapes friend Ellie.

Since this is a five day poll, the latest responses have to be down about 24% to balance out the ones at the beginning of the survey period, which were above 30%. (PPP is teasing that its newest poll will likely have Newt in 3rd place, down in the high teens.)

While he is being outspent 8 to 1 in ads and while Bachmann and Santrorum are 24x7 in IA, and while Mitt is collecting endorsements and barnstorming SC, Newt is watching his wife sign books and sing. He is doing nothing to arrest the free fall. Coupled with his tanking head-to-heads with BHO, and his non-existent political operation in IA, he may well finish fifth in IA.
