Chris Christie's Endorsement Of Romney Didn't Amount To Squat

The following chart represents the Real Clear Politics national polling averages two days prior to Chris Christie's endorsement of Mitt Romney. At the time, Romney was narrowly in the lead with 23%.

The next chart represents the latest Real Clear Politics polling averages. As of now, Romney trails Newt Gingrich by 13 points with 20.8%

As you can see, Mitt has dropped more than two full points in the two months since Christie's endorsement, and a narrow lead has turned into a huge deficit to a man whose campaign was declared dead in June. Weren't we told by the experts that Chris Christie was the most popular Republican in the country, and that his seal of approval would seal the deal for Romney? What happened?

Yes, it was more than funny when when a few people declared the race over after Mr. Christie's endorsement. For the record, I certainly would not blame Mr. Christie for Mr. Romney's struggles, but he does not have the political capital that he once had. Mr. Romney has gotten better endorsements than Mr. Christie and he has received worse. Now if Mr. Bush were to endorse Mr. Romney, that would be decent.

BTW, I thought Mr. Cain was to endorse Mr. Gingrich. Haha, I guess that one did not pan out the way everybody thought.

You're an absolute idiot. Endorsements help candidates with fundraising, organization, and base moral. The Christie endorsement did all of those things. It's called "the long game". We're playing chess, you're playing checkers. As you scream "KING ME!" we're moving into checkmate.

So please! keep focusing on the wrong hand.

Anon:

It is interesting that the rest of us are a bunch of idiotic educated rubes that can only play checkers, while you are smart enough to play chess. On the other hand somehow, despite all our stupidity, we managed to get a Google account, while you can only sign in using Anonymous. We live in interesting times to be sure. I am not a Royalist, but yes "KING ME."

What a moron. People get endorsements so that they can use those people for fundraising and contacts.

It is really ridiculous to watch all these freaking hypocrites who are always praddling on about the evils of mandates and big government shilling for some big government con artist like Gingrich.

Could I get links to some of those expert comments?

Google search for "Christie endorse Romney seal deal"

Most of those hits are fabius what sealed getting the endorsement. Couple are from some random neverheard people who don't have any expert status I think.

Fabius = about

Stupid iPad auto correction

Teemu,

It doesn't matter. It was a random google search. You don't have to search long to find "experts" who speculated that this effectively ended the nomination process.

Grasping at straws again, I see RW.

Right Wingnut said...

No Martha...it is your candidate who is down by 13 points. There's no need to grasp for straws to point out the failings of the Romney campaign.

I thought Right Wingnut doesn't believe on the polls. I bet if Romney's numbers are great right now RWN would be making a different excuse. Thats how he hate Romney so much. This guy's a bigot and a hypocrite.

Anonymous said...

In terms of money it did. I don't think anyone ever expected the ABR crowd to rush to Romney based on a Christie endorsement.

GetReal said...

Who is to say what Romney's current numbers would be without the endorsement. No, it wasn't an utter game changer, but I'm sure it helped.

Google: RightWingnut sucks balls! haha

Right Wingnut said...

Anon,

I'll leave that up so everyone can see the maturity of some folks in the Romney camp.

GetReal said...

Who said they are in the Romney camp? You don't have to support Romney to oppose Newt, do you?

Right Wingnut said...

GR,

The post is about Romney, not Newt. Clearly, anon is upset with the post. That leads me to believe he's a Romney supporter. Would a Paul supporter be upset with the post? I don't think so.

I don't like or approve of those anon comments. Not good form. I do not think RW is a bigot or a hypocrite, for the record. He is WRONG on some things but not a bigot! :) LOL

Or maybe like Megamind says, "RW is LESS RIGHT." :)

AZ,

I don't mind being called wrong, as long as it's done the way you do it. I think you're wrong, but I respect your opinions. LOL

Anonymous said...

RW, you see I corrected myself, and said that you are "less right." Don't you think that's a little easier to take? :)

For someone who goes on a cursing rampage and namecalling RW you and the anon have a lot in common.
