Chris Christie endorsing Mitt Romney Today:

Fox News has confirmed That New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will announce today at Dartmouth College, his endorsement of Mitt Romney.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, just one week after definitively announcing he will not run for president in the 2012 race, plans to endorse Mitt Romney for the job Tuesday afternoon, Fox News has learned.

The event is set to take place in Hanover, N.H., the site of the Republican presidential debate being held Tuesday night. The endorsement will be made in advance of the debate.

Marking a fast turnaround for Romney, the endorsement comes one week to the day since Christie called a press conference in Trenton to end once and for all the speculation that he would make a late entrance into the race.

Woot!

My favorite endorsements to date are Robert Bork, Tim Pawlenty, and Chris Christie. Bork because he is so well respected in the conservative community, Pawlenty because he was the first serious candidate to step down and back Romney, demonstrating mutual respect and admiration, and Chris Christie because he will be a powerful spokesman for Romney.

This is GREAT news!

I'll bet Christie will attend the debate tonight as Romney's guest and Chris and his wife will spend the night at Romney's spread.

This is the absolute best endorsement for Romney.

Now let's see if DeMint falls in line.

I knew this would happen, and I think we all did. It's not rocket science.

In the last few weeks with the hulabaloo over whether Chistie would run, most of us knew he wouldn't. His whole rep is being a straight shooter. There was no way he would go back on 3000 denials over the past year. I'm glad to see his ego is in check.

I also knew that once he made the last NO final, he would endorse Romney post haste. And he is.

I mean, what other choice does he have? There isn't anyone else running who he could possibly endorse.

As ConMan stated in an early post, Palin and DeMint are next.

I agree, the question is when. I'm surprised, actually, at Christie's quickness. I figured all three would endorse around Dec. Christie because he wants to get funding from all conservative subgroups for his gubernatorial campaign. Palin because she doesn't have a lot of political capital left to burn after stringing her fans along (and they aren't terribly excited about listening to her right now). And DeMint has his own little timetable.
