Texas Governor Rick Perry now trails President Obama by double-digits in the latest Rasmussen hypothetical Election 2012 matchup.

Head-To-Head: (from October 3)

Barack Obama 49% (43%) (+14)
Rick Perry 35% (37%)

The Punchline:

This Poll was taken BEFORE Perry's performance in last nights debate.

It was noted in the last debate that perhaps Perry's performance was related to having to stand. This last debate, the candidates were all seated....that didn't help..

“Perry can’t debate standing up. Can’t debate sitting down. Next debate, he gets a mattress,” veteran GOP consultant Alex Castellanos tweeted.
