Sarah Palin to Rip "Crony Capitalism" in Iowa Speech

Ouch! Poor Rick!
Though she won't be a candidate when she delivers a major address at a tea party rally in Iowa on Saturday, Sarah Palin will make it clear that she if enters the presidential race later this month she will vociferously challenge Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s engrained image of solidarity with the tea party movement.

In her speech at the bucolic National Balloon Classic field in Indianola, Palin will lean on loaded phrases like “crony capitalism” and “permanent political class” in laying out her view of the U.S. political system’s deep-rooted ills, according to a source close to Palin and familiar with the content of the speech.

Though she will not call Perry out by name, Palin’s carefully couched rhetoric will leave the impression that she may soon draw more overt attention to one of the Texan’s potential vulnerabilities as a candidate: his history of doling out plum positions and other benefits to generous campaign donors during his nearly 11-year tenure as the nation’s longest serving governor.

GO SARAH!!!

I'm stunned by the way supporters and the press overlook Perry's cronyism and and how he perverts public assets and positions to friends for his own aggrandizement. Thank you Sarah. A trusted voice against corruption.

I'm sure some will be hesitant to do it, but if you watch The Undefeated, you'll understand. Her entire campaign platform in 2006, and her governing agenda was all about beating down crony capitalism, corruption in government, special interest, and power brokers. The words in her convention speech were not just dreamt up by the speech writers. They were authentic and from the heart.

Interesting. Well, I am glad that Mrs. Palin is making noise again about getting into the race. It is also good that she is going after both cronies. Mandate Rick and Mandate Mitt. It appears that she is going after Mr. Perry more at first. This is probably a good idea because one has to go after the front-runner. It is also a bit risky because one of the reason Mr. Perry is the over-welming front-runner instead of a weak front-runner is because the attacks from the Romney camp are probably back-firing. Thus, she will have to go after him in a careful manner.

Hopefully she can at least turn this into a 3 way race and than see how the cookie crumbles. In a 3 way race all Mr. Perry has to do is be in the top 2 because Conservative Palinites would probably hold their nose and vote for the quasi-Conservative over the establishment candidate. in a Palin-Perry contest, Romneyites would most likely go for the quasi-Conservative over the Hard Rightist. The interesting question come in a Palin Romney contest. Do the Perryites hold their nose and vote for a woman or do they hold their nose and vote for a guy who does not want to deal with SS? Intersting for a long weekend Friday.

The only thing Palin can rip is envelopes that contain PAC donations. Keep sending her your money, you old fools.

Ohio JOE said...

Yes we will continue to send her money so that we can send more Conservative congressmen to the House just like we did in 2010. You said it could not be done, but we fooled you rather well.

Anon 12:39,

Hi Dumb Ditz. I know that's you. Guess you lost your courage since you don't sign your name to your "great" writing anymore. Done with the pretend Romney support, too? Have a great weekend you hateful little nitwit.

Palin cannot carry independents , not to mention she is woefully unqualified to be President or address the economic problems our country is facing.

Long story short, Palin is a liability that even the TEA would be wise to avoid.

Americans overwhelmingly believe that Sarah Palin should remain out of the race for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, a new Fox News poll of registered voters reveals.

Respondents were asked: “Do you think Sarah Palin should run for president in 2012 or not?” Overall, 74 percent said no, just 20 percent said yes, and 6 percent said they’re not sure.

Among Republicans, 71 percent said the former Alaska governor should stay out of the race, as did 80 percent of Democrats, 66 percent of independents, and 66 percent of tea party members.

The votes among all age groups were similar, from 74 percent to 76 percent No, as were the tally among all income groups.

More women than men said the 2008 vice presidential candidate should not get into the GOP race — 77 percent of women said so, as did 71 percent of men.

When asked whether any announced or potential GOP candidate is “too extreme to be seriously considered,” 12 percent of Republican respondents chose Palin, making her the third-highest vote getter after Rep. Michele Bachmann (18 percent) and Gov. Rick Perry (14 percent).

Asked to choose their preferred candidate from the announced candidates, Republican voters selected Perry at the top, with 29 percent, followed by Mitt Romney with 22 percent and Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul with 8 percent each.

The truth hurts.

anon,

Considering the Fox is employing Perry's pollster, I'll take it with a grain of salt. Thanks anyway.

This, or any other poll won't keep her out.

When the only voters left that like you are a panty-sniff brigade, it’s time to fold your tent and head back to Wasilla.
Two-thirds of self-described tea party voters said Ms. Palin should not run for president, and 71% of all GOP voters said Ms. Palin should remain on the sidelines. Expand the survey to the entire electorate, and 74% don’t think she should run.
A FOX News poll has the facts – the cold hard facts for the unemployed half-term failed and thoroughly disgraced Sarah Palin.
When hardcore Republican websites start turning against you, you’re done.

Ohio JOE said...

"When hardcore Republican websites start turning against you, you’re done." Yes, you are correct, Mr. Romney is essentially done. Thanks for playing. Bye.

Right Wingnut said...

anon, If she has no shot, why continue to obsess over it?

Concentrate on getting Romney elected...

Ohio JOE said...

"Concentrate on getting Romney elected..." That is turning out to be a bit more difficult than they thought. It is easier to trash Mr. Palin, Mr. Perry and many others if your own record is nothing to write home about.

You confuse obsession with my love of comedy. Everything you and the rest of the sicko Palinbots say is absolutely fabulous comedy...at Sarah's expense.

Ohio Joe, you are such an incredible idiot. I wonder what its like going through life while looking at everything with child like wonder.

You never say anything insightful, and you seem to make up facts based on some sort of made up timeline you concocted.

Sorry, another poll :
"Only 18% of voters think it would be good for Republicans if Palin entered the race. Sixty percent (60%) say it would be bad for the party, while 11% predict it would have no impact. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure."

Anon, then what are you worried about? If she's that bad, she'll crash and burn anyway...and you'll finally be rid of her...right?

Pretty please, anonymous posters, identify yourselves. It doesn't have to be your real name, but just give me some way to differentiate between posters.

There are 11 posts that are "Anonymous" in this thread. Two of those are signed, leaving 9 truly anonymous posts. Are they all by the same person? Or are they 9 different people?

I'm just sayin'.

anon, I think you should refrain from calling Palin's supporters "panty-sniffers." This is unacceptable and untrue.

I will be delighted to hear Palin's remarks about crony capitalism. Good for her.

Apparently, Palin has paid someone to write a speech for her. Her speech to the 2008 Republican Convention was written by Matthew Scully, a former speechwriter for George Bush. We rarely learn anything of what the speaker believes or thinks from such speeches. More often, this sort of speech is calibrated to appeal to particular demographic groups, so we may hear something with an appeal to the aggrieved. It is, after all, a Tea Party of America event.

But in order to make a successful comeback, Palin will have to persuade the 74% of Americans who think she shouldn't run in 2012 (just 20% think she should). And her attempt is made more difficult by the fact that 62% of white evangelical Christians and 66% of Tea Party members think she should not run. How will she turn them around? How will she get anything more than a short-term bounce in the polls?

Go get 'em Sarah!

Anon, kindly jump off a cliff.

Not interested in jumping off any cliff, but...I would love to see the lying quitter jump from the top of the Empire State Building.

Classic problem Palin has is seen in PPP Kentucky numbers.
Romney runs strongest against Obama. Palin is weakest. Romney leads Obama by 25 % with Independents, Perry by 15 % and Palin by 10 %. This is Kentucky, not New York.
She has, I'm afraid, missed the boat, but her speech will be an interesting indication of endorsements. Not sure, with her negatives, whether that will be a benefit or not

CraigS, I like you...I really do but you aren't paying attention...just like the electorate isn't paying attention.

The race hasn't started yet. If she jumps in this race she is in the top 3. She is already polling in the top 3. She could enter this race in December and win Iowa and South Carolina...but she won't...if she enters, she will enter before the October deadlines and have plenty of time to gain momentum.

Momentum will win over the indies...a clear, vindicated message will win over the indies...the economy will soften President Obama's support.

Wishful thinking will only blind side you.

jerseyrepublican

BTW, details about Palin's speech have already been leaked...it is pretty evident that she intends to drop the bomb on Perry. I think I read a lot of know-it-alls that claimed that she was going to endorse Perry?

Time and time again people have stated that Palin is done and time and time again she has proved them wrong...you shouldn't think this time is any different.

I heard Limbaugh say today Palin would probably support Perry. That was after I had read about Palin's needed speech on crony capitalism. So much for Rush.....

I say, "Go for it, Palin!" Help those "tea party" people out that think Perry is their "savior".

There is no perfect candidate.....but there certainly is one with MORE integrity, fewer skeletons and much less flip flopping on important issues than Perry.

CC,

Rush never said that he thought Palin would endorse Perry. He was just discussing a story by John Fund. Fund is the one who thinks that Palin will endorse Perry.

Anon is jealous because despite all he says about Palin, Palin is still smarter and much more successful than Anon. The irony is twisting Anon into fits of rage one second and fits of laughter the next as the insanity takes hold. He tries to be rid of it by insulting Palin all the more. But alas, each attack, each jab, each attempt to diminish only makes the irony all the more rich.

No Anon, it is the rest of us that are enjoying the comedy that is you.

I am paying attention. I note that Sarah is giving a speech in Seoul at the same time as a GOP debate in October. That tells me she won't be debating. I note that 70 % of voters don't want her to run. They may not be listening.....but they do vote.
I think Palin has some good ideas. I really do. I think much of the bad PR is her own fault, though. I think she may have had a window ....if she wanted it, earlier in the year. But I increasingly think she is headed to 2016, perhaps with a Senate run in between.
I'm not sure whose camp she is in for 2012....if any. We'll see

CraigS, there'll be a dozen debates between now and Iowa...if Palin misses one due to a prescheduled speech...oh well...they'll probably reschedule the debate...that's how important Palin will be to this primary election. Palin is the politician that will excite the electorate. Palin is the politician that will draw crowds of thousands to rallies. Palin is the one that will be a ratings blitz for the networks and ad-clicks for the websites...it's all about marketing.

She committed to the South Korea speech long before that debate was scheduled.

I want to add that I realize my comment was a bit over zealous. It just amazes me how much people want to put Palin in the corner and every time, they try, she has proven them wrong.

There's no reason to believe this time will be any different than the past 20 times it has happened.

Today is the day of Quitter's BIG announcement - I had thought she would be officially throwing one of her wigs into the presidential race today, but it's looking like she won't. I've read that she will endorse Perry, and I've read that she will bash President Obama and defend the tea party.
The latest rumor is that Sarah Palin will follow in Oprah's footsteps and create her own network.

She will reveal later today the 'Evangelical Sarah Palin Network'.
That's right. ESPN.

i highly doubt any debates will be rescheduled if queen palin wont be able to attend. She is the excitement of the party, and they just wait till she opens her mouth and out comes the bloopers..
