Romney would like a VP of Dick Cheney's caliber

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney said this week that his pick for vice president would be “a person of wisdom and judgment,” such as former vice president Cheney.

Romney, holding a town hall in Sun Lakes, Ariz., on Wednesday afternoon, praised Cheney, who served with former President George W. Bush, and said “that’s the kind of person I’d like to have” on his own ticket.

“Whether you agree or disagree with him, this is a man of wisdom and judgment, and he could have been president of the United States," the former governor of Massachusetts said.

Romney did not rule out naming a “Tea Party person” to the ticket when asked. "I will pick someone who could be president," he said.

Who around now would be able to fill that criteria?

wisdom is usually a result of many experiences. That usually means an older person.

Good judgment again usually not associated with someone who is young but rather someone who has been around for awhile.

I don't think Rubio or Christie at this point would qualify.

Wisdom would generally hint at an older person, good judgment could go either way.

That would be hard to fill.

Perhaps Gingrich minus the baggage.

Rubbio and Christie with 5-10 more years under their belts.

Demint would be a choice that comes closest and could satisfy the criteria plus the Tea Party.
