A Perry News Roundup

Been quite busy lately folks, but here are some stories on our "frontrunner"....

From January 2011 http://money.cnn.com/2011/01/23/news/economy/texas_perry_budget_stimulus/index.htm

People love to say Perry has balanced Texas' budget every year.... Well Perry HAS to balance the budget – it’s the law.....

"The Texas Constitution requires that the Legislature budget for no more than the amount of revenue that the Comptroller certifies will be available. The requirement that Texas must balance its budgets is a major difference between state and federal budgeting, for Texas cannot run a defecit, while the national government clearly can (Its at 10 trillion). The fact that Texas must only spend what is available pressses the legislature to FIRST spend it’s money on federally mandated programs (like Medicare) and constiutionally required systems (like Education)."   http://texasimpact.org/node/373

Job Growth…for everyone?

Perry’s Budgetary Management style? Kicking the can down the road…..http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=13925002

Hope to have more later on Governor Ricky Bobby.....

Hi Doug
More news on Lame Richard's Almanac. Noticed at the Call to Action retreat last week at Perry financial Godfather, James Leininger's hill country ranch was one
David Barton, founder of WallBuilders.
Barton has been very influential in changing Texas Pubic School textbooks to reflect more Christian views, the more controversial of which replaced Thomas Jefferson with Thomas Acquinas and deleted reference to Anne Hathaway because she was driven out of Puritan Massachusetts.
Barton also said that California wildfires and Hurricane Katrina were visited on us by God because of our toleration for gays. He also argued that MLK doesn't deserve credit for civil rights because only white majorities can expand civil rights.
Interesting soul mates to pick up AFTER you have declared your candidacy.
By the way, in yet another Perry bit of confusion, it appears, when Ricky said " ...we can leave anytime we want. So, we're kind of thinking about that again." talking about Texas secession. he was completely uninformed. In 1866, the Supreme Court, in " Texas vs White " ruled that Texas's Ordinance of Secession was "Absolutely Null"

Junkie if all they did was let the candidates speak Thaddeus McCotter would not be polling last. He'd be around the top and they wouldn't have to make books about liberal media bias. Not gonna happen and until FOX wakes up and starts showing a guy like McCotter we are stuck with Perry because conservatives don't want to vote for Romney. advancingthetruth.blogspot.com

CraigS, just wondering if you meant Anne Hutchinson, not Anne Hathaway? Maybe I just have my history confused, but I do know that Anne Hutchinson was driven out of Massachusetts by the Puritans.

You are absolutely correct. Must have been some Holiday libation because I know the history well. Not sure who poor Anne Hathaway was , but Barton may have blacklisted her too. Anyway, you are right, it was Anne Hutchinson. Thx for the pick

Anne Hathaway is the beautiful actress on Princess Diaries, Ella Enchanted, Get Smart, and a number of other movies. It's easy to remember a beautiful lady. I don't know if poor Anne Hutchinson even had a portrait painted, so I can see why she might not be the first to come to mind. LOL!
