I recall the so called Tea Party pundits during the course of all these deliberations on television, new articles, and in blogs, stating that anything short of Cut, Cap, and Balance, would be the end of anyone who cast a vote for such a thing.
Here are a couple of examples:
- The Tea Party coming after Congressman Allen West for supporting the Boehner Bill, with threads of primary challenges. The Boehner version BTW, was a better bill than this one.
- Governor Palin, pretty much saying the same thing only in general terms.....P.S. Everyone I talk to still believes in contested primaries.
Now, all of a sudden, this compromise is a Tea Party victory? Pass me the barf bag. What am I missing? Where am I wrong?

Bos, did you notice your buddy DeMint is thinking about backing primary challenges to Senators who vote for the bill?
See Hot Air.
In the endless discussion in the media as to who took a position on the debt crisis and the subsequent legislation.........let's actually do a kind of scorecard. Recognize that I don't believe anybody should have said much, one way or another, unless they were Ron Paul and Michelle Bachmann, who are members of the congress involved in coming up with a bill. So
Bachmann.......Missed 37 % of all sessions since announcing her candidacy. Yet, she , more than most, could and should have been involved in the Congressional debate , discussion, drafting legislation , etc. To just endlessly say NO is a total dereliction of her responsibilities
Grade D
Paul............ Also, like Bachmann, has a JOB to do in the Congress. Where was Paul, other than to say ' A Pox on All Your Houses ?"
Grade D
Perry ? Not a candidate. No opinion. No Grade
Cain ? Who knows what his opinion was ?
Grade : Dropped the class
Pawlenty? Not sure which bill he was against but seemed not to like parts of the bill, but maybe O.K with the need to pass something
Grade: Incomplete
Gingrich ? Who knows what he said ???
Grade : Unknown
Palin : Likes the bill but doesn't like what's in it.
Grade : C
Romney: Didn't comment when legislation was being drafted because he's NOT in Congress. Bachmann and Paul ARE. Said he didn't like what was in the FINAL BILL and Didn't like the Bill itself
Pretty clear
Grade A
CraigS
RWN,
He has a right to do that. I'm not crazy about the bill either.
This Post is about folks claiming that the compromise is a Tea Party VICTORY. IS IT? I don't think so.
Perhaps if these folks had kept their collective mouths shut during the talks and instead of antagonizing and threatening everyone, we might have had a shot at passing the LESS SHITTY Boehner bill.
So perhaps a Victory for the Tea Party in a sense that they got us a SHITTIER BILL.
"Now, all of a sudden, this compromise is a Tea Party victory?" In terms of that it is not as bad as we would otherwise have, BINGO. Is it a full victory? NO.
Right On, Bosman.
The Tea Party was fighting anything short of Cut, Cap, and Balance, through the whole process.
I to can't believe the spin of a Tea Party victory over the news outlets.
OJ,
"In terms of that it is not as bad as we would otherwise have, BINGO. Is it a full victory? NO."
Can you supply me with links to the Tea Party support for the Boehner Bill? I've supplied links to those opposing it.
Maybe I missed all that Tea Party support.
Boehner's bill WAS BETTER!
Bosman has a case of revisionist history.
jerseyrepublican
All the bills sucked except for CCB but the final bill conceded more to the Republicans due to the TP holding strong. Thank God Palin spoke up when she did...if only Romney had raised his concerns last week...we might have even gotten a better bill...but as always Romney needed to feel the political winds in his hair before he could take a stand...
jerseyrepublican
I think CraigS is drunk this morning...Romney gets an A for keeping his opinion to himself...HAHAHAHA.
As the possible next President, Romney had a vested interest in this debate and have every right to discuss and influence...he chose not to...he made the wrong choice.
jerseyrepublican
Bosman, great points!
Of all the comments I've read about this in the past few days, you, CraigS, and Closer to Home make the most sense.
Romney is smelling like a rose right about now. I'm ashamed of myself that I didn't see what should have been obvious.
Chalk up the debt ceiling round to Romney.
Hee hee!
-Martha
So JR is on record for saying the Compromise Bill now was better than my bill.
My guess is you flunked economics.
HAHA, you guys are delusional.
jerseyrepublican
And they say we worship our "Queen". These Rombots would spin anything Romney did as a positive. Romney poops his pants....must be the right thing to do. Right Speak Rombots then proceed to make their undies go brown while saying how stupid everyone else is.
A.J.R.
Hi JR
LOL. Well it's hot here in Georgia, so I will soon tap the Pina Colada, but I haven't gone off the edge yet.
O.K. I buy your conservative grading. I'll give Mitt a B
But,
1. Nobody should be messing around with the legislative process unless they are IN the legislative process. Mitt isn't and ANY comments he provided would have added a mix bag of plus and minus. The media would have played off any comments from " the leading GOP candidate" to help the left against Boehner. Anything he said would have been used as sound bites against the Speaker making his job doubly difficult. I am absolutely sure that John Boehner appreciated Romney's silence as he battled to draft the legislation.
But Bachmann and Paul were there...or should have been there at Boehner's side with TRUE influence hidden from the camera. Instead, they talked from restaurants and county fairs in Iowa about how bad the bill was. I'm sure Boehner appreciated their sideline shouting.
Then, we have Palin in Alaska on jury duty.Nuff said
So' I'll ask again. Who was helpful ? Who took a position? tell me what Perry thinks or Newt or Tpaw. How about Cain?
CraigS
CraigS - Please share your recipe for the Georgia Pina Colada!
If you have a chance to aquire some Brugal a dark rum from the Domincan Republic, do so. You drizzle a little a floater on top of the Colada just before serving....takes the edge off the day.
AJR,
Maybe you can point out all the Tea Party support for an anything but Cut, Cap, and Ballance.
Perhaps I missed the Tweet from Palin on her support of the Boehner bill.
HaHaHaHa111....I don't think so....HaHaHaHa......VICTORY, ya right!
Am I the only person who noticed that it took Bosman a day to come up with a spin for Romney...the best he could come up with is knocking the Tea Party...that is a weak argument and no matter how much you try to deflect...Romney screwed the pooch on this one...hopefully he won't tie him to the roof of his car today...HAHAHAHA...ROOF OF HIS CAR!
jerseyrepublican
I think the news outlets are just ticked off that there had to be a debate about the debt ceiling, at all. Obama didn't have to pass a budget last year; why should he have to explain his spending to the country?
I agree that this won't really be considered by the Tea Party as a victory, but I think the TP definitely influenced the debate.
Actually, I don't think this bill is much of a victory, either. Congress will just continue to kick the can down the road and campaign like they have solved the world's problems with their lack-lustre legislation.
AZ
CraigS, we'll have to agree to disagree about some of your points. BTW, it's hot here in Jersey as well and a Pina Colada does sound delicious.
jerseyrepublican
Well said AZ!!!
jerseyrepublican
I'm surprised the Rombots haven't tied their pets to the roof of their cars, trucks, boats and any other vehicle. Romney did it so it must be right.
A.J.R.
AJR - haha. It's really kinda silly. I can't even take them serious any longer.
jerseyrepublican
AJR, the dog loved it...the wind in his hair...the bugs in his eyes...it reminds me of Vacation.
jerseyrepublican
Bos,
You need some meds dude. That crazy laughing while you type is spooky. BTW....better go put your dog/cat on the roof. WOOF!!! WOOF!!!
A.J.R.
JR...I know what you mean. I was wondering why Bosman was AWOL yesterday. maybe he was driving Spike around town. Who Let Bosman's Dog Out!!! WOOF WOOF
A.J.R.
HAHA, AJR...I expected as much.
jerseyrepublican
BTW, I expect a punishment post, about Palin, is in the works from Bosman.
It will be posted in 3, 2, 1...
AJR, and Jersey. You guys don't do yourselves any favors. Just sayin.
-Martha
Yeah....I wouldn't be surprised at that. Bosman tends to lash out like a little child when the Great Romney has been disparaged.
He has been leaving Palin alone for the last couple of weeks. I wonder why? :)
A.J.R.
Martha,
The Palin supporters are basically treated like dirt by the majority of the people on this site so how do you expect us to act?
A.J.R.
Doug, when I mentioned Bosman, CraigS and Closer to Home, I should have included you. You've made things clear the past few days. Thanks for your insight.
-Martha
Besides...we are just having a little fun. WOOF WOOF
A.J.R.
AJR, I don't know. I understand what you mean, but the potty talk, and other stuff doesn't help your cause.
I do like how you try to lighten things up, it's just that the content could be a little better.
-Martha
AJR,
Wondering where I was yesterday, Use your scroll button. You know, that little invention that's been on computers for 30+ years. When you do scroll down to yesterday, you'll find 4 posts of mine.
As to you're comments, It might be NEW EXPERIENCE FOR YOU to actually read the post rather than commenting ONLY on the comments.
I'm sure JR, appreciates the cheering section, but so far you and JR, have not addressed the content of the thread.
Perhaps YOU CAN'T?
As to tying my dog to the roof, only if he's eaten something that disagrees with him.
Martha...where were you when we were being called TeaBaggers by Ellie's liberal troll friends. I didn't hear you condemn them for that comment...which is 10 times more vile than anything any of us have ever said.
jerseyrepublican
Bosman, actually we have.
jerseyrepublican
JR,
"Bosman, actually we have."
A Man's Got To Know His Limitations!
Jersey, I don't pay attention to the trolls. I don't know who they are, and they are only here to trash Palin. I ignore them. They are not my friends.
-Martha
I never said they were your friends, but to condemn us for our "potty mouths" but remain silent when they spout their vile hatred...is a bit...
jerseyrepublican
Martha - thanks for the shout out.
And you know, I might just be a crazy as you!
The condemnation for the use of the profanity is because those who employ it, personalized it against other members of this site, with whom they had a disagreement.
To defend the use of profanity laden name calling against fellow posters, simply because some trolls spew nonsencial junk about Palin, is weak and wrong.
And it's not about having a higher moral authority either. I can use profanity quite liberally in conversation with people I know.
However, I'd like to think even though we disagree on tis site, the conversation wouldn't have to sink to the level where someone feels compelled to calling other members vile bitches, douchebags, assholes, etc. To me it shows a lack of self restraint, emotional maturity and class.
But as the old song says...To each his own.
JR and Doug
I drove through N.J a couple of weeks ago, so I know it's hot. Sat on the Turnpike at rush hour from 287 to Monmouth. Busy spending TARP funds ?
Doug
The Georgia recipe for Pina Colada is
Get ANY cheap Pina Colad mix and add a bit of really cheap, colored rum.
Pour the mix over crushed ice and drink it
fantastic
CraigS
Doug, so true! Ellie and I seem to be the most likely recipients, so thanks.
-Martha
PS. I guarantee, you are not as crazy as me!
Craig,
Funny. Enjoy!
AJR, we tried to tie the goat to the top of the van, but she did not like it at all. So, we took her down and let her ride inside.
I don't like the profanity when Bosman uses it, but it's his site. Can't ask him to refrain, when he owns the bar.
LOL. Just call me the allpowerful Ellie! I can direct traffic to this site with a wink of my eye, or a flick of my fingers.
You give me far to much credit.
Ellie
(FYI, forgot to sign the other two anons, but it was me).
Ellie,
As long as you tried to tie the goat on the roof....its all good. You could put the pet goldfish that I am sure you are dreaming to buy on the roof. GLUB!!! GLUB!!! and a WOOF!!! WOOF!!!
A.J.R.
True, AJR. We are getting a bee hive next spring. Maybe we can train the bees to just follow us on our trips?
Ellie
Perhaps a Tea Party FAILURE would be more appropriate?
I don't like being told what to do. In fact I'd be tempted to do the opposite. I could imagine Senators/Congressmen having the same reaction
I never had my dog riding on the roof, but the damn thing sure likes to stick his face out my driver side window and inhale the wind.
I would take it easy on the barking noises. Palin might get confused and shoot you from her helicopter. ;)
spin? kinda like queen palin loyalists trying to change paul reveres wikipedia story to match what the queen said?
I swear, if palin ran for president and lost, her supporters would change her wikipedia to show she won the presidency.
I have to admit that Wikipedia thing was pretty funny.
-Martha
A goat on the roof of the car sounds interesting! Our dog sure does love to come in the car and hang her nose out the window. Watching a dog stick her nose out the window of a moving car is one of the joys in life.
AZ
Ellie,
If you could train the bees to do that I would be impressed.
A.J.R.
GetReal,
LOL...I will keep that in mind.
A.J.R.
