Rick Perry in Waterloo, Iowa (VIDEO 08-14-11)

Rick Perry spoke today in Michele Bachman's space......well, sort of.

He showed up at Waterloo Iowa to speak at a Republican's Of Blackhawk County Lincoln Day Dinner in Iowa. To view the event, click the button under the photo below:

Of course Michele Bachmann showed up at the event as well to add light on the situation.

This guy is a walking and talking cliche. What a lot of hot air.

After viewing a portion of this speech, I now believe Perry will be very formidible. I doubt he'll get much vetting from the conservative press. Look for him to become the new "chosen one."

RW,

"After viewing a portion of this speech,...."

Which portion? I agree with Larry. Nothing but hot air and cliches.

Cindy,

He's a very dynamic speaker. We know his record, but the GOP primary electorate has a history of overlooking rino tendencies. In addition, look for the ruling class to consolidate their support behind him. He will likely vault to the top of the polls sometime in the next couple of weeks. Whether it will last is the question. Mitt will probably have to engage him soon.

I think RW is right about Perry being the new "chosen one." I was not impressed with his speech announcing his candidacy. I didn't watch all of it because we had a thunderstorm which knocked the feed off line, and I didn't bother going back to finish watching it. The part I did watch did not impress me. He used a few of Romney's phrases (Washington is broken, criticizing Obama's apology tour), but his massacre of the English language was a put-off. I live in KY, and I enjoy listening to the southern accent, but I didn't like him saying "a" instead of "of" or "ta" instead of "to." It doesn't go over too well with me.

Noelle, I wasn't impressed with his announcement speech either, but the one from last night was pretty good. I don't plan on supporting him any time soon...just calling it as I see it. His campaign skills present a problem for the rest of the field.

RW, you've got to be kidding. This is proof positive that Perry ain't the sharpest guy around. Watch the Romney townhall today and then tell me who can be president. It ain't the one with the drawl.

Martha, the speech was very well received by most. I'm no more of a Perry supporter than you are, but it's obvious that the man has some skills.

RW, I guess it appeals to certain segments. It turns me off.
