Palin & Perry: A couple of wannabe spoilers with no skin in the game

H/T Right Wingnut

I'd like to start off this post by stating that if Palin or Perry were the GOP nominee (heaven forbid) I would vote for either one over Obama any day of the week. Now that that's out of the way......

Unless both of these folks plan on hopping in the race, there is no reason for them to be a DISTRACTION this week.

Sarah Palin:

We are very happy to jump back on the bus for another leg of our “One Nation Tour”! We accept with gratefulness an invitation to meet folks at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines this week. The heartland is perfect territory for more of the One Nation Tour as we put forth efforts to revitalize the fundamental restoration of America by highlighting our nation’s heart, history, and founding principles.....(emphasis mine)

Rick Perry:

Will announce his intentions in regards to seeking the Republican nomination on Saturday (August 13) in South Carolina at the Red State conservative blogger convention. Then on to NH for a house party. And on Sunday, a visit to Michele Bachmann's birthplace in Waterloo, Iowa.

Now as far as Palin is concerned, NOTHING NEW here. Just another "here I am....I'm still relevant....The fact that I'm in Iowa during the straw poll, is just coincidental." Oh, and the punchline,

Unlike next week’s Obama Bus Tour, taxpayers aren’t funding our tour, which is why we so appreciate your support ($$$$$).....blah..blah,,blah.

Perry on the other hand will be giving his speech (2012 intentions) the same day as the Ames Straw Poll, hoping to be able to take some of the wind out of the sails of who ever wins the poll.

Sarah and Rick on the sidelines......AS USUAL!
Both Palin and Perry will of course be absent from the Fox News debate today. Unfortunately for them, If either or both get in, there won't be any more debates to avoid. No more JUST SHOWING UP without any skin in the game. It would be all DOWN HILL for them from there.

I dont blame perry for announcing on the same day as the iowa straw poll, if he really intends to run then why not?

Palin on the other hand is NOT running but wants people to still have her on their minds, so why not just showup in iowa and let people know that shes still "thinking" about runnning.Im really tired of queen palin just popping up when she needs to just disappear. Fox needs to just give her her own show so she can be happy and stay busy.

Palin should just announce and join the debates, but NO, look at mee!! ill just crash the party!!!

I don't know about Perry... except to day he cannot defeat Obama.

Palin.... not only can she cannot defeat Obama .... but she would be a dangerous and reckless choice. She is horriblely unqualified to be President. Palin along with Michelle Bachman should not be allowed anywhere near the Oval Office.

well the same people from obamas camp that said he needs to kill romney also said they prefer a run against palin or bachmann.

You summed up Perry and Palin perfectly.

Either shut up or get in.

Did any of you REALLY expect Palin to sit at home pulling her hair out while the Iowa straw poll was being conducted, Rick Perry prepared to launch his campaign, and Mercede Johnston was stealing her limelight by showing what a real Alaskan beauty looks like?

Well then you must be new here, welcome to the crazy world of Sarah "Me, Me, Me, it's all about Me!"Palin.

She can't keep raking in the PAC money ( personal slush fund) if she doesn't pretend to run.

Hey Bosman,

Love that photo of Palin and Perry sitting on the sidelines. Is that Rudy in the sunglasses?

She's starting to look like a stalker.

Todd is pissed that he has to go to Iowa. He wanted to stay home alone with his new Playboy magazine.

So Sarah is flying to Iowa where her bus will meet her and drive her to the state fair.

Has anybody noticed that Sarah can't draw her own crowd? She has to go to places where people are already assembling for other reasons. Does Rolling Thunder ring a bell?

Basically Sarah is like a leach always crashing somebody else's party.

She will be handing out free DVDs of "The Undefeated." They have to get rid of them somehow.

That sure looks like Giuliani in the sunglasses and blue cap.

Love the pic, too Bos!
