Is Rick Perry a lot like President Obama when it comes to Immigration?

President Obama has just put a stop to the deportation of illegal aliens:
Bowing to pressure from immigrant rights activists, the Obama administration said Thursday that it will halt deportation proceedings on a case-by-case basis against illegal immigrants who meet certain criteria, such as attending school, having family in the military or having primary responsible for other family members’ care.

The move marks a major step for President Obama, who for months has said he does not have broad categorical authority to halt deportations and said he must follow the laws as Congress has written them.
Rick Perry on the idea of a Mexican border fence:
You got strategic fencing in some of the metropolitan areas – it’s very helpful,” Perry said while at a campaign stop in New Hampshire on Tuesday. “But the idea that you’re going to build a wall from Brownsville to El Paso is just — it’s ridiculous on its face.”
“Six week ago, the president went to El Paso and sai the border is safer than it’s ever been,” he said. “I have no idea, maybe he was talking about the Canadian border. I will assure you one thing, if I’m president of the United States, the border will be secure.(emphasis mine)
Very impressive WORDS! Let's see now,,,,Against a fence.......But you're going to make sure the border is secure if you're elected President. What's that old saying about actions speaking louder than words?

Hey Rick, can we count on you to make it as secure as your state's Mexican border? After all, If your state's border was that secure, Why is there a need for YOUR VERSION of the Dream Act?
As a compassionate state, we know that for our children to succeed, they must not only be healthy, but educated. The future leaders of our two nations are learning their fractions and their ABC’s in classrooms all along this border. Immigrants from around the world are being taught in Texas classrooms, and our history is rich with examples of new citizens who have made great contributions. We must say to every Texas child learning in a Texas classroom, “we don’t care where you come from, but where you are going, and we are going to do everything we can to help you get there.” And that vision must include the children of undocumented workers. That’s why Texas took the national lead in allowing such deserving young minds to attend a Texas college at a resident rate. Those young minds are a part of a new generation of leaders, the doors of higher education must be open to them. The message is simple: educacion es el futuro, y si se puede. (emphasis mine)
And you're against the Arizona immigration law as well. Dream Act in Arizona like your state....huh?

I don't know Rick. I guess your version of what it means to secure a border and to discourage illegal immigration is different than most.....REPUBLICANS that is.

Thanks for posting this information.

Perry certainly doesn't have American citizens best interests at heart with these actions.

Thanks for putting together this important information and connecting the dots.

Another big reason Perry can't be our nominee.

His being SOFT ON IMMIGRATION has given his state a pool of cheap labor and is also the reason there has been a need to increase PUBLIC JOBS (teachers).

All part of Perry's smoke and mirrors economy.

Perry is on the wrong side of this issue.

I'm with Jim DeMint. Double sided wall with a road in the middle that is actively patrolled.
