After the debate, Jennifer J Jacobs, a reporter for the Des Moines Register, tweeted "Bachmann left the stage at every commercial break, even during the last one, when the Fox crew coralled her and asked her to stay."
Jacobs does not explicitly say that Bachmann was having an emotional melt down, but that is the implicit message.
Why does this matter? Is this just tabloid news? Imagine that it had been President Bachmann last month meeting with the leaders of the House and the Senate, trying to hammer out a deal on the debt ceiling. With her hard line stance on the debt ceiling, it is easy to imaging Bachmann being ganged up on by all the Congressional leaders of both parties. Would she shut down emotionally and leave the talks?
Bachmann wasn't able to even handle the stress of voting on the bills that were presented, even though she wasn't in any leadership position. Oh, she voted when the bill went to the full floor. But she was absent for 48.2% of the votes in the House for Q-3 2011.
It appears that Bachmann is more prepared to run than to fight.

A big Hat Tip to Right Wingnut for reposting the tweet in the chat box. I was afraid that this tweet would quickly disappear because of how fast the chat box messages disappear. It will be interesting to see if the media pick up on this story at all. Certainly there was something amiss last night with Bachmann, and the Fawning News cronies know it, but will they betray their flavor of the month candidate by dishing on her?

Perhaps with the stress of being the focus of some questioning, the migraines kicked in?
If she can't handle the stress of criticism in a debate, what's that tell you about her ability to handle stress aa a President?
Ben, no kidding. Where would she have been on 9/11? Sacked out on a couch? Crying in Marcus arms? Hospitalized?
Maybe she had to pee or deal with an issue. Geeze don't hate on the woman.
Right Coast,
At every break?
Do you want a President then with an acute bladder problem?
If it were an acute bladder problem, would she be the first president to wear a diaper?
"If it were an acute bladder problem, would she be the first president to wear a diaper?"
At her age, yes.
hahaha u guys are too funnny!
Bachmann appeared very nervous as the night went on. I noticed that she appeared to look shiny which means, she was sweating a lot.
Those frequent visits to the ladies room could have been related to that as well.
Bosman, I'm pretty sure that's what was happening. As a woman, I can relate to that. None of the guys on the stage would have to worry about eye make-up running down their faces.
I doubt very much that she went off to cry. If she did, it would have shown in her face and eyes, but it didn't.
Overall, I think Bachmann didn't do as well as some people claim. She totally failed to convince on leadership. Pawenty was right, she has done nothing that would prepare her for the presidency. 'Fighting' isn't going to cut it. You need real accomplishments.

I have a question for everyone here. Umm,
Did any of you think Michele Bachmann's
explanation in response to the submission
question last night during the debate,
was really what She meant when She made
her remarks about this subject five years
ago, on the video posted here at Right Speak,
or do you think that what She said during the
debate, was different than what She said five
years ago? Just Wondering
It seems like the submission part is a non issue now.
The submission problem is far from being a non-issue, IMO. The video left the impression that Buachmann is controlled by her husband, and that she thinks it's part of her duty to allow it.

Would Michele Bachmann be a submissive President?
Judging from her hesitation in giving the answer, I believe she lied.
If you watch the video on the link I've provided, 'respect' isn't in the equation. It's more of the OLD FASHION belief that the man is the boss and head of the household.
I'm old-fashioned I guess. I believe in the husband being the 'head of the household', the provider, protector and all that. In most homes, however, women basically run the show--hence all the timeless jokes on the subject.
However, what Bachmann described is far from the normal view. She basically said he told her exactly what to do professionally, and then she explained that she did it out of submission to her husband.
That is a terribly warped way to make decisions, IMO.

Michele: Marcus respects me so much that he makes all my major life decisions for me, such as education, career, procreation. He just wants the best for me and I am too simple to make those decisions for myself.
Michele's flights from the stage really must be explained. I have NEVER seen a candidate do that even once, let alone EVERY break. And then to not get back before the set goes live on multiple ocasions. Bizarre!
I have always believed Marriage to be between two Adults who respect each other and are involved in the give and take of everyday life.
Mike Huckabee's interpretation of certain biblical passages are more accurate in my opinion, and he didn't seem to have to do some fancy footwork, to explain away previous remarks he had made in the past, like Michelle Bachmann did last night during the debate.
I was excited about Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann possibly being the First female President of the United States, because they are Conservative and would stand up for a Constitutional Government. I just don't see how a Woman who holds views like Michelle Bachmann does, could be the leader of the free world, and be Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces. hmmm
Just my humble opinion of course
Debbie
@ Revelation 2012, I tend to agree with you.
