Rick Santorum: Romney and Huntsman are Weak

Click photo to enlarge
HaHaHaHa!
Republican presidential candidate and former Pennsylvania U.S. Senator Rick Santorum said Sunday that former Utah governor Jon Huntsman and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney are “weak’
“I think it’s a big mistake for any candidate to bypass Iowa. It shows weakness, not strength,” said Mr. Santorum. “If you can’t compete in the heartland of America for heartland Republican voters, you’re going to have a hard time not just winning the Republican primary.”

The rest of the story is HERE.

Let's give Rick a score:

Romney is weak (WRONG)
Huntsman is weak (CORRECT)

Well he's 50% correct. When I went to school, that was still an "F+". This coming from a guy WHO I THINK may have reached 4% in at least 1 national poll. For the life of me, I can't remember which one.

What he's really thinking is,  "Thank you....thank you.....thank you......there is a God. Maybe with Romney out of the picture, I could win the Iowa caucus..."

Sorry Rick, more than likely, you'll come in a distant last, no matter who participates.

BTW Rick, do you think Iowans know what a big backer of Romney you were back in 08? And What a ringing endorsement it was. I got all choked up just listening to it:

Well Rick, I couldn't have said it any better myself!

What a hypocrite Santorum is.

And there is still just one place to go right now, and it is still Mitt Romney.

Here's a GREAT link on Santorum (& Ingraham) supporting Romney 4 years ago! What has happened in the past 4 years that makes Santorum FLIP FLOP??? You could certainly add some radio hosts to that list as well!

WMUR Granite State poll:

Mitt Romney – 35%
Michele Bachman – 12%
Rudy Giuliani – 7%
Ron Paul – 7%
Rick Perry – 4%
Sarah Palin – 3%
Tim Pawlenty – 3%
Herman Cain – 2%
Jon Huntsman Jr. – 2%
Newt Gingrich – 1%

BELOW 1%:
Gary Johnson
Buddy Roemer
Rick Santorum

I actually felt sad when I say this that Santorum was polling so low......

Santorum will drop out after the Ames straw poll and will probably endorse bachmann or pawlenty. Hes part of the "anybody but romney" crowd.

Where is the integrity? If Santorum is, as you say, "anybody but Romney," then why did he endorse Romney last cycle, then go against him now? Makes no sense.

I can understand him running and trying to make himself appear to be a better alternative than Romney, but once he's out (and he won't last long), it makes him a huge hypocrite if he now says "anybody but Romney."

Out of the mouths of babes, from the lower tier of the pack....

Noelle, i agree with you, but can you see him endorsing romney after dropping out? Hes going to endorse someone who also signed his SBA pledge.

If he's smart, (being out of work) he'll endorse the candidate who will be the winner.

The earlier he drops out and hops on the band wagon, the more points he collects.

Romney should use that last video as an ad. Endorsed by Rick. "if your a conservative theres only one place to go and thats mitt romney"

Santorum is such a jackass.

I hope he gains traction so Mitt can run this video as an ad.

"Where is the integrity? If Santorum is, as you say, "anybody but Romney," then why did he endorse Romney last cycle, then go against him now? Makes no sense." Hello, there are a different set of candidates this time around, not to mention different issues on the table.

Ohio JOE said...

Yes, Mass Con, in your world, anybody who does not endorse your candidate is an ignorant 'jackass.' BTW, I am rather proud of the fact that you think so low of me.

OJ,

Tell your queen to enter the race, it will be a "BIG" spotlight for her if she does.

Noelle said...

OJ, the issue that has taken the most predominant position in this cycle is the economy, which is Romney's strength. (I thought that was the most important issue last time around too, but then I guess I have incredible foresight.) No other candidate in this group is even close to Romney when it comes to expertise on the economy.

If the issue of government debt is your greatest concern, Romney turned the $3 billion deficit in MA into a multi-million dollar surplus. Romney wins my vote on this issue too.

If the issue is to get rid of Obama, Romney has polled the best against him. Romney wins again.

There may be an issue or two where Romney is not the strongest candidate, but those issues are minor, and Romney's positions, even where we don't entirely agree, are within my "margin of error."

What issue is it exactly that Santorum thinks is the most important? Participating in the Ames Straw Poll?

Ohio JOE said...

"What issue is it exactly that Santorum thinks is the most important?" Perhaps MAcare. You may be impressed with Mr. Romney's governance in MA, but I am absolutely not. He governed in a time when the overall national economy was good thanks to Mr. Bush. He did not have to face the same challenges that Mrs. Palin, Mr. Pawlenty, Mr. Kasich and Mr. Walker faced or face. Further, among other things economic, Mr. Romney's position on the banking industry is troubling.

Ohio JOE said...

BTW, I do not have a Queen, we live in a Republic. But I guess history may not have been your strong point DD (or whoever you are.)

Noelle said...

Massachusetts health care was already in place when Santorum endorsed him in 2008. Romney's record as governor was already in the books when Santorum endorsed him. Santorum was obviously impressed with Romney's governance in MA when he endorsed him.

Ohio JOE said...

"Santorum was obviously impressed with Romney's governance in MA when he endorsed him." No has was not, the main reason that he endorsed Mr. Romney was because he was not impressed with the other leading candidates. So in short, his endorsement of Mr. Romney was for the most part an effort to block Mr. Guiliani, Mr. McCain and Mr. Huckabee.
