Bill Kristol: Rudy's Running

I'm told by two reliable sources that Rudy Giuliani intends to run for the GOP nomination for president in 2012. He may throw his hat in the ring soon.
Rudy's theory of the race: In the fall of 2007, he decided he couldn't compete with both Mitt Romney and John McCain in New Hampshire, and disastrously decided to try to pull back there and pitch his tent in Florida. This year, he'll commit everything to New Hampshire, where he thinks he has a good shot at beating Romney—whom he criticized there earlier this week. He then thinks he can beat whichever more socially conservative candidate(s) is left by winning what are still likely to be winner-take-all primaries in big states like California, New York, and New Jersey.
The Full Story is HERE.

You might wonder, what kind of a batting average Kristol has with his predictions. Lets put it this way, NOT SO GREAT.

Rudy has been "sort of" running for six years now. (Notice that time frame includes the 2008 campaign.) He just doesn't seem to have the energy or commitment for it anymore.

Rudy needs to run.....to get some new donations to pay his bills for 2008. Krystal, on the other hand, is like PT Barnum, with a new candidate de jure on almost a monthly schedule. Who does he have warming up in the bullpen, Condeleeza Rice or Fred Thompson?

If he plans to only concentrate on NH and FL, he might as well save his money.

Actually, he might as well save his money anyway. Because he couldn't win anyway. Next to Gingrich, Rudy's got the second most baggage.

There are many things to admire in Giuliani; however, his past behavior to his wives and children has been so reprehensible, it will continue to hurt him. I believe that is a huge factor in Gingrich's campaign woes. The good news is that people like Giuliani and Gingrich really have no one to blame but themselves for the way they have treated their families! Of course, Gingrich was so busy serving his country that he couldn't really stop himself from having an affair with a woman while his wife had cancer. I guess they might try to blame someone/something else, after all! LOL!
