Under The Radar Poll Results: Ron Paul closest to Obama in Match-up

I happened upon these results by accident. According to the latest CNN POLL in Head-to-Head Match-ups with President Obama, Ron Paul had the best showing among all Registered Voters

Head-to-Head: (Obama/Candidate)

Ron Paul 52/45 (-7)

Mike Huckabee 53/45 (-8)
Mitt Romney 54/43 (-11)
Newt Gingrich 57/40 (-17)
Sarah Palin 59/38 (-21)
Donald Trump 58/36 (-22)

Of course the same poll gave Paul a not so great a chance of winning the Republican nomination, or did it? (April 9-10 2011) [March 11-13 2011] {GAIN/LOSS from previous poll):

Mike Huckabee 16% (19%) [19%] {-3}
Donald Trump 14% (19%) [10%] {-5}
Mitt Romney 13% (11%) [18%] {+2}
Sarah Palin 11% (12%) [12%] {-1}
Newt Gingrich 10% (11%) [14%] {-1}
Ron Paul 10% (7%) [8%] {+3}
Michele Bachmann 5% (5%) [N/A] {-}
Mitch Daniels 5% (3%) [3%] {+2}
Tim Pawlenty 3% (2%) [3%] {+1}
Rick Santorum 2% (2%) [3%] {-}
Jon Huntsman 1% (N/A) [N/A] {-}
Someone else (vol.) 3% (3%) [4%] {-}
None/ No one (vol.) 4% (4%) [3%] {-}
No opinion 2% (1%) [2%] {+1}
Survey of 964 registered voters, including a subsample of 475 Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents, was conducted April 29 - May 1, 2011. The margin of error is +/- 3 percentage points among registered voters, +/- 4.5 percentage points among Republican and Republican-leaning Independents.
The crosstabs can be viewed here.
