Did the Palins just purchase a home in Scottsdale, AZ?; Update: More photos; Update: SUV with Alaska plates seen leaving the property

Earlier this year, Politico reported that Sarah Palin would base her campaign in Scottsdale, AZ if she were to run for the GOP nomination. SarahPac Treasurer, Tim Crawford responded by email with the following comment.
"There has been no decision about where a campaign would be based."
Note the lack of a denial in Crawford's statement. AZ Central is now reporting that the Palins have likely purchased a home in Scottsdale. The Palins have yet to confirm or deny the reports. However, a commenter (nederlandbill) at Conservatives4Palin had the following to say about the news.
"I did the mortgage on a property 2 homes away and owner says she saw the Palins looking at the home."
This is a very interesting development if true. I suspect we'll hear much more in the coming days. Stay tuned!

From the article:
....A just-closed deal on a secluded luxury home in far north Scottsdale might fit the bill, and talk has begun that this may be the one. It's an 8,000-square-foot, dark-brown stucco home with a guard gate that can keep unwanted visitors away. It has six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a six-car garage, a swimming pool and spa, and a full basement with a home theater, billiards room and wine cellar.

Safari Investments LLC paid $1.695 million cash for the home in a deal that appears designed to cloak the identity of a high-profile buyer.

Safari Investments is a Delaware limited liability firm formed May 12, the day before the deal for the Scottsdale home closed. No officers are listed on the Delaware filing, and that state doesn't require the names of individual associated with limited liability companies to be disclosed. High-profile people often buy homes through LLCs to maintain their privacy.

Alan Kierman, an attorney with the Phoenix law firm of Mack Drucker & Watson, is listed on property records as the contact for Safari Investments. Asked point blank by The Arizona Republic if Palin and her husband Todd Palin bought the north Scottsdale house through the company, Kierman said he had no comment....

Or,they could just be tired of the long gray Alaska seasons and the long flights to get anywhere.

I think Bristol bought a home in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area earlier this year.

Phoenix is a moderate trip to Alaska to escape the heat in June-Aug and is near perfect weather the other9 months.

Moving to AZ allows Palin to be more accessable for her Fox News appearances.

Does this signal a run for the WH? Who knows?

I just et a kick out how the Palinistas think all of Sarah's moves/statements contain hidden meanings, codes and riddles, as if she is some mystic being.

Then again, to many of her fans, she is.

Maybe she'll seek residency there to run for some other office?

Isn't Kyl's seat available?

2016/2020 she could perhaps add a little more to her resume.

Welcome neighbor! Glad to have her.

I just visited the paper's comments section, unreal. There are some who are hoping and wishing Sarah Palin gets shot and murdered.

Such ignorant hatred is disgusting, but what we have come to expect for the tolerant and peaceful liberals.

Doug,

How did I imply a "hidden meaning, code or riddle?" Your paranoia runs deep as of late.

Do you think it's a coincidence that Ben Smith reported two months ago that Palin would run her campaign out of Scottsdale? I don't.

She sure has bad taste. The house is garish with absolutely no character and looks more like Nordstroms than a family home. I sure hope she hires someone to decorate it. Her home in Wasilla looks like Wal-Mart decorated it. I hope she doesn't think her house will compare to Romney's. Her house is nothing more than a cheap cottage when compared to Romney's mansion. Her taste in homes is as cheesy as her taste in clothes.

Romney 2012!

dd,

Thanks for the comment. That's a great way to sway the undecideds to Romney. More of that please.

You can rest assured the undecideds have already decided that they definitely will not vote for Palin. Sarah has a very tiny little cult that she can count on and nothing more.

More from nederlandbill...

I think I can confirm the home sale to the Palins. I have been told that the funds deposited with the title company came from an Alaskan bank------too many coincidences not to be true.

I was a real estate broker and lived in the same area for 15 years. In March,I heard from a close friend that her broker was showing Todd homes in the area and posted the gossip here as speculation. It makes perfect sense. They would be 45 minutes to an international airport and 15 minutes from a private and commercial airport. The home was built in 2005 and never lived in by the buyers. In 2006 it was foreclosed on with a 2.4 million lien on it at the time. It is on 3 acres and sits below the Mcdowell mountain range. With the elevation of over 1600 feet above Phoenix, you can see beautiful city lights in the evening and -----yes,it actually snows ,covering the ground for a few hours a year. It is also a very conservative area known as Pinnacle Peak.

------------------------------------------------

I know the address and have been in the home---it is stunning, and very private, and an Olympic sized pool surrounded with grass you would find on a putting green.

RWN - You gotta lighten upman. What paranoia? I made a light hearted remark after a benign observation regarding her move to Scottsdale.

But you have to admit your camp reads a lot in to a lot of little things..."Game On" ring a bell? Mama Grizzly video perhaps? All of these were proclaimed as signs of a go from on high.

I just think it's a bit funny, that's all.

Paranoid? Hardly.

Don't lose your sense of humor.

Funny doesn't even come close to describing "the group". Nuts is probably a better description. I love the way they all think Sarah wastes her time reading their silly, childish posts. I'm sure Sarah is probably truly proud of the way they spew hate and bash anyone who is thinking of throwing his/her hat into the ring. They think everyone should know that Sarah is considering a run and that anyone else who considers running is a back stabber. I love the way they describe Bachmann...they don't even know they're describing Sarah to the nth degree. The entire group is almost funnier than Tina Fey.

I don't know where I'll go for a good laugh when Sarah admits she's not running.

The McCains live in Central Phoenix (Biltmore area). Quite a distance from this North Scottsdale location. Old money vs. new money. I don't think Az is going to welcome her with open arms, but evidently Alaska is very happy to see her leave.

Gov. Palin has promised an unconventional campaign. I can already sense the fear and trepidation from the Left...

Anonymous said...

I'm sure it will be unconventional in the respect that it won't happen. Sarah is not running. She's too afraid of all the personal truth that will be thrown at her, things she can no longer deny.

Hi folks, an Arizonan and first time commenter here (please be gentle).

1) Palin can't run for Gabby's seat, she doesn't live in the district, thank God. GG is my congresswoman, and if Palin was to try and run down here I take no responsibility for what could happen.

2) The local GOP aren't going to welcome her with open arms if she's thinking about running for Kyl's seat. Too many locals already are, and she would just be a carpetbagger. Too many are already in front of her in the line.

3) That house may look good, but I bet it's got construction faults like nobody's business. The housing industry here defaulted for speed and low-cost over quality many years ago. Think mold for starters...

From Google Earth:

4) There are horse farms all around her. The smell might be something to contemplate. Heh, heh.

5) There's a nice gravel road running alongside the property, and it looks like they only have a 6 foot fence. Probably can't make it any higher, I'm sure there are actual zoning laws there. Cameras, anyone?

6) Why did she choose a house that isn't all that far from the neighbors? Considering what she's paid for it, something further away from the great unwashed would have been better.

Personal observations now: her household staff isn’t going to be the same shade of pink she is. The groundskeepers and any domestic staff will most likely be Hispanic, that is if they are willing to work for her. Just the mention of Palin’s name turns all of us off.

Sarah should be thanking all her tea party fans for helping to keep up her lavish lifestyle....just like those televangelists who live high on the hog.

All these comments, and no one thought this compound is eerily similar to Bin Laden's compound???

Maybe she's going to hide there for 6 years LOL!!!!!!

I don't know anything about these rumors. If SP decides to move here, she will probably enjoy the sunshine. I assume she'll go somewhere else during the summer. There's an old poem about Arizona being established by the devil as a summer home, but even he went home because, "Arizona is hotter than he__." Summer here is like that. Only the true sun worshippers enjoy it. Everyone else hovers in their homes and doesn't venture out until the sun goes down!

Pinnacle Peak and the Biltmore area are both really beautiful areas to live in. Needless to say that I live among the great "unwashed" elsewhere.

I don't agree with much that "Anonymous from Gabby Giffords seat" said, but I agree that the local GOP probably won't be too excited if she immediately runs for Senate from here. We actually have Jeff Flake who has decided to run for Kyl's seat. He's a pretty good pick, I think, and has a decent shot at it. As unfortunate as what happened to Gabby Giffords is, I'm not a person that feels so sorry for her that I will vote for her out of sympathy. Being shot through the head is traumatic and may disable her for the rest of her life. Unless she greatly recovers, I think we should put her on disability and move on. I think Ted Kennedy should also have been put on disability when he stopped functioning with brain cancer. Most people lose their jobs when they can no longer perform them; why shouldn't we apply this to our elected representatives?

Now I KNOW dd is not a real Romney supporter. That was the most transparent attempt at stirring up class envy against Romney I've ever seen...and I've seen plenty online. The fact is that NONE of the major contenders are hurting financially and I'm quite certain they all live in nice houses, if that matters to you.
