David Frum has grouped potential 2012 candidates into 3 categories:
CANDIDATES WHO COULD WIN THE NOMINATION:
Chris Christie
Tim Pawlenty
Paul Ryan
Mitt Romney
CANDIDATES WHO COULD WIN THE ELECTION:
Mitch Daniels
Mike Huckabee
Tim Pawlenty
Mitt Romney
CANDIDATES WHO COULD ACTUALLY DO THE JOB OF PRESIDENT:
Chris Christie
Mitch Daniels
Mike Huckabee
Tim Pawlenty
Mitt Romney
Because Romney and Pawlenty are on ALL 3 lists, he believes these two will end up in the MAIN EVENT. To understand his reasoning, you will need to read the full article here.

Rev, I read this earlier today and thought he made some good points. Thanks for posting it. I think he's wrong that social cons will reject Daniels, though. Not after last week they won't.

Hi Martha,
Before anyone say's it, I will.
I'm not a fan of Frum and would take his predictions with a grain of salt.
I would add Mitch Daniels to the list of people who should be in all three groups. He's probably my 2nd choice after Mitt Romney.
My second too, Noelle. I also think he would make a good second chair for Mitt.
Daniels couldn't win the nomination. Not with Romney running.
Pawlenty was included because next to Romney, he's been doing the leg work needed, but on a lesser scale.
